Transport by Air 2

Obviously, for a country that depends on human resources and its links to the rest of the world, this project is expected to boost vital areas like tourism, hospitality, finance and business. The third runway will be 4km long and on reclaimed land. The intention is also to go more green, with use of solar panels and photovoltaic cells integrated into the building facade, for example. A lot of the water consumption is planned to be supported by rainwater harvesting.

This is a budget carrier, Tiger Air, taking off from Changi airport, perhaps bound to an airport in the SE Asian region.

Good catch Ayush.
Ayush Basu: I hung around here for a while squeezing off several shots, Frank.
Ah yes - now it's recognizable! smile
I'm glad they're thinking environmentally...
Ayush Basu: It will probably not be all green, but at least the impact will be lessened, Elizabeth.
Bonne idée de penser ଆ l'environnement, c'est très important.
Ayush Basu: Better to think of it before the construction is completed, Martine.

I am always fascinated by aircraft Ayush
Ayush Basu: And all the electronics that goes onboard, Chris. Not sure if that makes things easier or more complex.
A green airport. Pity the planes aren't green. Mind you they are a lot better than they used to be
Ayush Basu: I am in agreement with you, Bill. The amount of disposable trash that every flight generates is also something that staggers me.

I e heard of Tiger Air but never seen one of their planes Ayush.
Ayush Basu: Not worthy competitors for ChadAir!
I do find planes interesting -where are they going, who is aboard and for what purpose. The mind boggles at the possible answers.
Ayush Basu: With the budget flights coming in, it has probably gone up several times, Martin.
Great POV here Ayush. It is good that those various methods are being used but I always feel that we can't fully rely on nature for power etc. 100% of the time and should have soem sort of backup.
Ayush Basu: I agree with you, Brian. Personally I think more could be done, just by a little thought - think of all the disposable, one time use items that result in trash after one flight.
very dramatic picture, Ayush! i love how the sky isn't dark yet the lights are on and visible... quite the contrast
Ayush Basu: Yes, I hung around here for a while squeezing off several shots, Elaine, so I had a quite few shots from around here. It was a memorable evening for several reasons.

I think that blotch near the plane's nose wheel is a bird. Fortunately on a level much nearer to you. Great shot.
Ayush Basu: The time of the day meant I had to widen the aperture and still keep a fairly high shutter speed to get reasonably still, Louis. The dof was I imagine quite shallow.
Very nicely done. Love the blue.
Ayush Basu: One of the better shots out of a bunch, Mary.
Great shot! Is that another plane?
Ayush Basu: Indeed, Larry. I was standing with my back to the runway and therefore there was a steady stream of flights circling overhead, arriving and leaving.

Lovely framing against the vibrant blue sky smile
Ayush Basu: I got a few and this is one of the more decent ones, CP grin

A fine image. I know all the principles of flight but I'm still in awe has planes take to the sky, especially the Boeing 747. Good to hear that efforts are made to be as "green" as practical at the terminal.
Ayush Basu: With the advent of the tonnes of electronics, I wonder if it is simpler or more complex now, Alan.
the right place at the right time Ayush... great capture during the blue hour....petersmile
Ayush Basu: Thank you for the kind comment, Peter.
