Barcelona Eatery

In general, my observation was that most establishments opened fairly late; they would open their shutters by 11am and would probably actually start their business a couple of hours later. But to make up, they also seemed to open till late. This place is advertising its delicious chicken.

cool motion
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Sherri.
Je trouve cette peinture assez agressive.
Ayush Basu: Most of the artwork I saw on the shutters seemed to be something like this, Martine.

I think your observation is right even for some of those in the UK. Personally, I won't eat for three to four hours before going to bed. I think this place has something to do with chicken.
Ayush Basu: My parents follow something similar before going to bed, Alan.

It’s a challenge for non Spaniards to be confronted with new eating times. Lunch at 3pm and dinner at 11pm. In big tourist centres on the coast they pander to tourists earlier eating habits. We found this all out on a visit to Madrid. We found the restaurants closed at 9pm.
Ayush Basu: As long as everybody gets something to eat, Chad.

They honour siesta time Ayush, and everybody eats late
Ayush Basu: It is indeed as I had heard before, Chris.

I like this very much, Ayush. As the picture of yesterday. I looks like you were all over the place. I only was once in Barcelona, would not mind going back one day.
Ayush Basu: I am pretty sure you will find a lot of interesting sights and photos there in Spain, in and out of Barcelona, Astrid. I am enjoying your Italy shots for the moment.
I don't like eating late. I am always a bit dubious about takeaway chicken grin
Ayush Basu: I used to be a bit of a late person but now over the past years, I am more of an early person, Bill.
Depending upon the type of establishment a lot of eateries don't open here until the evening while others close about 5 pm. Like Bill I avoid Chicken as much as I can when eating out.
Ayush Basu: I imagine the locals are well tuned to that, it is perhaps the visitors that might be left hungry, Brian.
The pollo has a sad face so may not be that good.
Ayush Basu: Yes, I wonder what was up with that, Mary. smile
A RICH chicken! smile
I like your image with the man moving through the shot!
Ayush Basu: An early morning shot, Elizabeth.
The artwork certainly brightens up an otherwise dull shutter Ayush.
Ayush Basu: Most shutters had something garish on them, Frank.
Yes, Spanish eating hours can be rather strange! I recall going to Murcia for the first time and finding that nothing was open for lunch - I think the earliest anywhere opened was 3 pm. After a morning session of something like 8 to 12.
Ayush Basu: It is indeed as I had heard before, Tom. Despite all the globalization and such, they are holding on.

I love the graffiti and the perfect positioning of the gentleman as he passes by...
Ayush Basu: Thank you for the kind remark, CP.
I think you've got the picture right about time, Ayush. As I recall, you wouldn't even think of eating dinner before 8 p.m.! For those of us used to eating around 4:30, that's way too late!
Ayush Basu: My parents are have their dinner early and I think they are happy about that, Ginnie.
hehe, what a cool way of advertising that chicken!! a grafitti artist actually got paid! great pic, Ayush
Ayush Basu: You said it, Elaine!

That man is ignoring the lure of roasted chicken..Great street shot.
Ayush Basu: He will probably be back when the shutters are up, Louis. smile
