CNY-Rat-11

Last stop: eggs. Generally speaking, Singapore relies heavily on the import of all foodstuff. There are some exceptions, such as eggs. This stall sold both eggs from Singapore and neighbouring Malaysia. The ones from Singapore were marginally expensive and the seller assured me they were bigger (I could not make out the difference visually). Turns out that breeders can indeed tune biology and economics in different ways to control egg sizes. I found this link which gives a summary in understandable terms - all of it was new to me: link here

And with this, I have 1,500 images in slightly under ten years. More than improvement in photography technique, I think I changed in my approach and thought process over this period.

Je suis impressionnée par la quantité d'œufs.
Ayush Basu: There are a lot of varieties of eggs on sale, Martine.

Eggs are good for us all Ayush, we have our own chickens for this purpose

Doesn't time fly, Ayush. I think your images have botten better over that time, and your fancy camera is only part of the reason.
Ayush Basu: I have also learned a lot from the other SC folks. Thank you, Ray.
I love a good egg! Well done on the landmark of 1500 pictures. I have enjoyed seeing them very much
Ayush Basu: smile Thank you, Bill.

Our neighbour supplies a lot of our eggs from his few roaming chickens. The flavour is wonderful.
Ayush Basu: Eggs are very good and you have kind neighbours, Chad.
What an interesting post Ayush, I love Eggs however they are cooked. Congratulations on your 1,500, I do so enjoy learning through your images what life is like in a part of the world I know I will never visit.
Ayush Basu: I love eggs too, Brian. And I am pleased this visit to the neighbourhood market gave me some new insights.
smile Thank you, Brian. And one might say, never say never!

Ayush Basu: Yes, I am not a person who is really too regular so I am pleased that I stuck with it that long, Sudipto.

Eggs give us energy and taste good. I always enjoy seeing your pictures, and well done to reach 1500!
Ayush Basu: I realize there are many who are prolific on SC and that inspires me as well, Lisl. smile Thank you
Enough eggs to feed an army, Ayush! And brown, like most of our eggs are here in the Netherlands, as opposed to America. Also, I see they are not refrigerated, like here in the Netherlands, as opposed to America. I've had to get used to both, as you can imagine.

I LOVE what you are doing with your photography. Congrats on 1,500 images in almost 10 years!
Ayush Basu: smile Thank you, Ginnie. The best part is knowing about other parts of the world and making new friends from around the world, although I did not meet all of them in person.
About the eggs, I see white eggs too and when I am back home, I store the eggs in the refrigerator (more because there is an egg traygrin)
congrats on the 1500 images!! wow... i haven't been keeping track of mine, but my blog goes back to 2008!
nice eggs.. i love eggs, but i'm not sure that they love me back smile
Ayush Basu: I am not that prolific, but back then I would not have foreseen that I lasted this long, Elaine. I love eggs and I do not think much more beyond that tongue
Good egg! I always enjoy this nutritious food smile
Congratulations on the 1,500 Ayush!
Ayush Basu: I love eggs too, Martin.
SC has been unlikely source of making friends from such diverse background, although I have not met all of you.
