Barcelona Canine

I saw in several locations, there were homeless people, with dogs, looking for some charitable donations from passersby. In the Netherlands, they would qualify for some financial support from the government. In this case, however, it was a busker. He was in the process of getting set up, so I did not hang around for too long. The canine was very well behaved.

What a wonderful composition...one of your recent best, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: It was on the spur. I am pleased you like it, Ray.
Malheureusement, nous avons la même chose ici.
Ayush Basu: I hope no abuse is involved here, Martine.

Same here in the UK Ayush, buskers often have dogs
Ayush Basu: I hope the dogs are not conveniently dumped if the buskers turn to other income sources, Chris.

What a wonderful image this is, Ayush. So sweet that the dog is on a pillow. I hope they collected some money that day.
Ayush Basu: I did not hang around much here, Astrid, I was able to get this on the spur shot and had to continue walking. I hope they have a good mutual relationship going on.

I'm afraid I'm rather cynical with some of the homeless; some have found to be professional beggars and rely on a sad-looking dog to generate more support. We are encouraged to give donations to the homeless charities rather than to the person on the street. I will often reward street musicians if I think them worthy.
Ayush Basu: I agree with you, Alan.
A common sight in the UK Ayush. People will always stop to talk to the dog!
Ayush Basu: I hope the dogs are not conveniently dumped if the buskers turn to other income sources, Bill.

If I had my way I would ban electric powered buskers. They turn up the volume to compete with arch other and draw crowds from afar. I prefer those that use their own talents without electrical aid.
Ayush Basu: Good point, Chad. I have on some other occasions seen some extremely well prepared buskers.

Yes we get a lot of that in the UK.
Ayush Basu: I hope the pets are not discarded callously, CP.
I think pets attract a few more dollars.
Ayush Basu: I can imagine that, Mary.

yes, it seems so often homeless people take in a homeless dog

sad scene
Ayush Basu: I hope the strays have a better life than out on their own, Sherri.
Looks like quite an elderly pooch.
Ayush Basu: I am no expert but I think this dog could be about 5 years old, Tom. Life on the streets can make mid life dogs look aged.
Our daughter has recently been to Bulgaria with a friend to stay with another friend who, together with her husband, has opened a dog rescue centre because there are so many strays in that country. It now turns out our Caroline has arranged for one of them to be sent over for her and her husband to have at home.
Ayush Basu: Strays are becoming a problem in Singapore too. I volunteered at a dog shelter and learned from them often people get puppies as a cute Christmas present and some of them dump them when the puppies grow up, Brian.

You captured a poignant moment in the life of someone who must be facing many struggles.
Ayush Basu: I do not have the story behind this scene, but I imagine you are right in saying that there are probably struggles here, Beth. Thank you for your remark.
great shot of the dog and the busker Ayush... i rally enjoy street musicians....petersmile
Ayush Basu: It does pleasantly amaze sometimes I come across genuinely skilled and talented musicians, Peter.
This makes a really great shot, Ayush!
Ayush Basu: I am not particularly good at shooting dogs but I find them appealing subjects, Elizabeth.
Definitely a busker and not a homeless man, Ayush. I like the POV from the dog's perspective.
Ayush Basu: I like the dog's chilled out, almost zen like calmness, Ginnie.
beautiful picture of this faithful puppeh... thank you for sharing, i LOVE dogs!
Ayush Basu: Life on the road is tough for dogs, so I was told when I was volunteering at a shelter some years ago, Elaine. So you and I have one more thing in common, in addition to love for photography.

The bad thing about dogs, is that there comes a time that you lose your companion. This one already has entered the frosty years.

Busking from a dog's point of view.
Ayush Basu: Life on the road is tough for dogs, so I was told when I was volunteering at a shelter some years ago, Louis.
