Metta Charity X Run 2019-2

I am convinced there's got to be an explanation for this gesture - at the moment, I take it that his fingers were doing something else and the shutter coincided with an unfortunate moment. He did not seem like a rude chap.

Un geste qui peut prêter à  confusion
Ayush Basu: I don't think he meant offense, Martine.
I agree Ayush, lets give him the benefit of the doubt smile
Ayush Basu: I agreesmile

It doesn't look like an insult to me Ayush
Ayush Basu: I agree, but it seemed like an amusing shot to post, Chris.

The quirks of the frozen moment Ayush. It could be the strain of the run that can produce some odd gestures.
Ayush Basu: It could be anything, Chad. I find his smile more genuine compared to any perception of his gesture.
perhaps he was counting on his fingers and you caught him at the number two moment.
Ayush Basu: That is an interesting hypothesis, Brian - probably counting off remaining kms or pacing himself, etc.

looks to me like he's doing exactly what it looks like, but to a friend in a friendly sort of way

i've seen it before in public
Ayush Basu: I imagine you could be right, Sherri - probably a joke they were sharing. I do not remember much happening around him but then, there were a lot of runners.
He looks like a cheerful chap and I am sure he wasn't being rude 😀
Ayush Basu: I find his smile more genuine compared to any perception of his gesture, Bill.
Makes a comic pic though!
Ayush Basu: Exactly, which is why I thought of posting this shot, Tom.
With that smile, let's give him the benefit of the doubt, indeed, Ayush. I love how clear this is, btw.
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Ginnie, all credit to the lens.

It might be just in the spur of the moment with the movement. I wonder why he is holding his phone, apparently for music, that stretch. Nowadays there are nice things to hold it for you and can put it around your arm....
Ayush Basu: Oh yes, I always find that the more experienced and serious runners are prepared to almost go to battle, Astrid!

As he is smiling too, I guess all is OK
Ayush Basu: A little bit of light hearted fun, I think, Lisl.

Maybe one more kilometre to run?
Ayush Basu: Maybe that's what he was thinking but actually there were 5 more to go, Alan.
wait, is he flipping me the bird? lol fun pic, Ayush!
Ayush Basu: I don't think he is an employee of CN competitor, Elaine grin
Good catch.
Ayush Basu: I am pleased you like it, Jacquelyn.
