The volunteer millers were very helpful and led tours in Dutch, English and German for visitors. They showed the mechanisms to control the incline (and therefore the delivery speed) of the grains hopper.

Primitive but effective machinery Ayush
Ayush Basu: Very well thought out, Chris.
It worked then and it still works now. Keep it simple is usually a good idea
Ayush Basu: They have a good body of knowledge that is still maintained, Bill.
Toutes tes photos sont vraiment impressionnantes. Quelle machinerie !
Bonne journée Ayush
Ayush Basu: Thank you for the kind remark, Pascale.

I once had such a tour Ayush, it’s wonderful.

I like your tour, Ayush. The grain is ready to fall.
Ayush Basu: Yes, in fact there was some wind that day and the miller was about to put the sails into operation, Astrid.
This is not unlike a really old watermill just 5 minutes walk from my home, similar bits of kit at the ned of the milling process.
Ayush Basu: I wonder if there had been some knowledge transfer in those days, Brian.

Are they still actually milling - or is it just for demonstrations. All those cobwebs could influence the taste of bread, made from flour milled here smile
Ayush Basu: Oh they mill for sure, Louis. I have wondered the same about the cobwebs and even live spiders, but this batch is perhaps for the cattle feed grin
Someone needs to do some dusting.

A sturdy piece of equipment!
Ayush Basu: Some parts of some mills are over a couple of centuries old, Tom!

All part of the miller's art, I should think.
Ayush Basu: The miller surely knows everything there is about the operation, Alan.
