Lovely. They seem strangely combative.
Ayush Basu: Perhaps they are married, Michael? grin

Angelic beings that look a little mischievous, Ayush?
Ayush Basu: I am aware that certain individuals in Hindu mythology have mischief associated with their anecdotes, Lisl. Perhaps it is similar with their Burmese counterparts?
They seem to be flirting Ayush
Ayush Basu: Perhaps the creators of this compound piece took inspiration from some specific Burmese mythological anecdote, Bill.

This shows the intricate carvings to goo effect. I think that they are not as innocent as they look wink
Ayush Basu: I liked the carvings too, Alan and you may be right about your second observation grin

Wonderful sculpture Ayush, but I'm not sure I like the colours.
Ayush Basu: I am not sure if they are significant from a religious point of view, Chad. Generally speaking, I like pastel like colours.
Ces statues sont très élégantes.
Ayush Basu: Indeed, Martine. I imagine they represent some mythological stories.
They have very 'modern' faces!
Ayush Basu: Uhm, I would be tempted to say they are contemporary Burmese style but obviously I am no expert, Tom. But you made a thought provoking observation.

Lovely...classic costumes and poses...
Ayush Basu: I did enjoy shooting them, Ray.
They are very picturesque.
Ayush Basu: I agree with you wholeheartedly, Brian.
These things are so well painted, Ayush. A nice composition.
Ayush Basu: I do not remember now precisely, Frank but any other angle would have shown some cluttered backdrops, so this choice was somewhat forced upon me.
they are very delicate statues Ayush... they have wings like the Christian angels....petersmile
Ayush Basu: I suppose the thought process behind the wing attributes are similar between Burmese Buddhism and Christianity, Peter. I liked these statues very much.
They look very elegant.
Ayush Basu: Thank you for the kind remark, CP.
That's nice information Ayush... And lovely capture... smile
Ayush Basu: Thank you as always, Sudipto.
Up and away they will go
Ayush Basu: As long as they go together, Martin smile
You spent a long holiday in Penang! How's Singapore?
Ayush Basu: Oh it was no holiday, LC. I am almost done and will be back in Singapore for good.
So, the Buddhist version of angels, Ayush??!! How lovely.
Ayush Basu: Captured in a rapturous pose, Ginnie. Thank you.

While most Buddhas usually offer a shy smile, these two are definitely a happy pair.
Ayush Basu: They have some mutual attraction at work, Louis.
are they dancing? i wonder where the idea of wings on angels comes from smile
Ayush Basu: These angels do indulge in a bit of a Bollywood routine, Elaine grin
Angels!?
Ayush Basu: Hmm, of some sort, yes smile
