photoblog image National Museum of Singapore

National Museum of Singapore

I see this was taken on my old camera so it has been in my archives for at least three, possibly four, years. Built in the 1840s, it was first meant to be a library, then it started housing archival documents. It moved out to a nearby building but moved back in 1887. Sine then, the National Museum of Singapore has remained at this spot and is the nation’s oldest museum. In addition, it hosts cultural activities, festivals and special film screenings. There are the permanent galleries and the travelling exhibits, so any time is good to visit the museum. Furthermore, owing to its Renaissance architectural style and recent renovation attempts, a lot of new married couples sneak in to have wedding pictures taken in the winding corridors, in front of columns and under the rotunda seen at the top.

I seem to have done some post processing to this image, although now I do not feel it helped much!

Ce bâtiment est de toute beauté.
Beautifully shot.
The BW post processing looks appropriate.

i love the lighting!
It is a magnificent building Ayush. A bit cheeky of newly weds to sneak in for snapshots. Still, newly weds can get away with most things.
It is a good shot of a very fine looking building Ayush with quite a history.
Your POV makes it imposing - in a good way.
