Early Morning Jeepney

Messed up the white balance a bit on this one. I selected a tungsten setting in an early morning setting, hence the colder tones here. Taken from the back of another jeepney in front which was a good angle to get following jeeps, taking office workers to their destination. Most of the destinations [inscribed in black on the yellow] are unfamiliar to me except for Baclaran, which I believe is someplace close to the Ninoy International Airport of Manila.

They certainly add colour to the tarmac, don't they, Ayush.

Presumably these Jeepneys are built locally?
Ayush Basu: Yes, engines and some parts are typically from Isuzu and the bodies are built by local motors in regional workshops

What a great car. Love all the details on it. It turned out to be a great shot (even after you mentioned the white balance being messed up)

I remember thes jeepney from my visit in 1976
Ayush Basu: I wonder if much has changed since then with respect to the jeepney
They certainly decorate them up.
Ayush Basu: They bring to mind the decorated trucks of northern India/Pakistan

It looks very looked after (well, relatively!) especially as it;s locally-made. Can the driver actually see where he is going.

I continue to be fascinated by these Philippino vehicles, Ayush
The owners obviously have great pride in their vehicles!
