Bedsheet

The province of Rajasthan is well known for brightly printed fabrics and this bedsheet is no exception. Dyed in a base colour, all the patterns are formed by a carved block dipped in various coloured pigments. In earlier years, they were completely manual, but now certain amount of mechanisation has crept in. There are still diverse possibilities of making unique and custom printed bedsheets.

That is a wonderful even if they are partly mechanised now.
Ayush Basu: Yes, I found it (and other such designs) very well thought of and executed, Michael.

Les dessins sont magnifiques.
Ayush Basu: Yes, I really liked them, Martine. Most of them are inspired by nature.
Un tissue typique et une superbe photo.
Bonne journée Ayush

I had an Indian bedsheet as a child Ayush. It was very thin but very strong, it lasted years. My father brought them back from India.
Ayush Basu: I have had identical bed sheets, Chad, and I do remember them losing colours eventually but never developing tears.

This is a colourful delight, Ayush. This is a piece of art.
Ayush Basu: I find it is a bit too bright for me, but I still like the artwork, Astrid.
It is a beautiful thing Ayush
Ayush Basu: I thought it was very competently executed, Bill
I love it. Paisley and other intricate designs are a love of mine.
Ayush Basu: Then I am happy to have shared it with you, Mary.
This colourful design brings to mind a peacock, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: I see what you mean and that may well have been the case, since peacocks are not uncommon in this province, Beverley.

quite a nice pattern
Ayush Basu: I am delighted that you like it, Sherri.
It looks far to pretty to sleep in, it looks more decorative than useful.
Ayush Basu: I know what you mean, Brian. It might be used as a bed spread for the day time and perhaps not the actual bed sheet (a guess only).
