City Palace

The Chandra Mahal palace now houses a museum, but the greatest part of it is still a royal residence. Also known as the Chandra Niwas (residence) is the most commanding building in the complex, with seven storeys. At present, it is mostly occupied by the descendents of the former rulers of Jaipur. Only some sections on the ground floor are allowed for visitors to enter.

it's huge and beautiful

seems like the higher the level, the more intricate the detail
Ayush Basu: I did not look at it that way, Sherri but you may have observed something there!
What a place! Or palace... I like your P.O.V. Ayush.
Ayush Basu: I was impressed by it. I am pleased you like the place, Frank. It was not too difficult to position myself and take this shot.
It must be remarkable to be there. I'm glad you've a person in the image to give some scale!
Ayush Basu: The modern day descendants still live there (not royalty anymore) so there are not too many tourists and visitors loitering about, Elizabeth.

It is a most impressive building, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: It was easy to let one's eyes roam all over this building, Ray.
Nicely shot. That is a gorgeous building.
Ayush Basu: I completely agree, Michael.
WOWZER, Ayush. Totally posh.
Ayush Basu: I think so too, Ginnie. I wonder how the present day (no longer royal) descendants react.

Building on top of building by the look of it Ayush.
Ayush Basu: They did not have shortage of manpower (servants, POWs, etc) to pile the storeys up, Chad, I guess.
Très belle architecture et un cadrage bien choisi.
Bonne journée
Ayush Basu: I think it was a bit of a no brainer to take this shot, Pascale - thank you!

I always imagine family squabbles going on, while tourists calmly strolls the available sections.
Ayush Basu: I am absolutely sure you are right about that, Louis! smile
What an amazing and beautiful building.
Ayush Basu: I was suitably impressed by this view, Brian, and spent a good deal of time gazing at it.

It is very ornate and colourful.
Ayush Basu: It took me quite some time to feast my eyes on it, CherryPie.
It might seem like the top of a cruise ship,
Ayush Basu: I like your take on it and now that you mention it, I agree, Claudio.
A handsome structure!
Ayush Basu: I was impressed by it. I am pleased you like the place, Tom.

This is very impressive, Ayush. I think I will loose the way around this enormous building. Wonderful architecture.
Ayush Basu: I imagine they did not have shortage of manpower (servants, POWs, etc) to pile the storeys up, Astrid.
Ha... Can they not place the air-con units somewhere less obvious?
