Jaipur Bazaars

The city of Jaipur has many traditional shops selling antiques and handicrafts. The rulers of Jaipur patronised a number of arts and crafts and routinely invited skilled artisans, artists and craftsmen from all over the country, to sink their roots in the city.

A colourful and attractive image, Ayush.

Some beautiful patterns, Ayush - and lovely shot!

She cannot decide which to buy
Ayush Basu: Always a problem for some shoppers, Chris.
I appreciate the way that Indians favour these wonderful bright colours, such a contrast to drab western clobber.
Ayush Basu: The colours are hard to miss especially here in this province, Martin.
Love all the colors--a nice slice of life.
Ayush Basu: I was trying to get a bit of the street life in my photo, Larry.
Elephants remain a popular motif.
Ayush Basu: Yes, they were used a lot in the armies of the kingdoms past, Mary.
Certainly very colourful clothing.
Ayush Basu: The colours are hard to miss here in this province, Brian.

Some very gaily-coloured clothes to choose from, Ayush
Ayush Basu: The colourful fabrics are hard to miss here in this province, Lisl.
I don't know about Rajasthan, Ayush.

But AirAsia is flying from JB to Kolkata directly. I have been thinking to do Kolkata first.

Have you been to Kolkata?
Ayush Basu: Yes I have been to Kolkata, LC grin

Excellent DOF that helps tell a story.
Ayush Basu: I am pleased you like it, Beth. I wanted to capture a bit of street life.
Cool, first thing first. I need to check I need a visa to visit India. Last time I checked I think Malaysian passports required to obtain visa before arrival.

Don't know why AirAsia is flying to Kolkata directly from JB, instead of Delhi.

My Indian friends in Malaysia recommend me to visit Kerala. Damn all these places are actually very far apart.

Rajasthan-Kolkata-Kerala. I need to spend a long time in India, if I want to see more places.
Ayush Basu: Yes, all the three places mentioned are quite far apart from each other, LC. I would suggest you to pick one, maximum two. Let me know if you have any specific questions that I could provide guidance for.
