Venlo Calling

Based on some work related commitments and my personal inclination towards future assignment, it so happens that I will be in the Netherlands (specifically, Venlo) for a little while. I intend to not let it affect my posts and presence on SC, but I am afraid I may not be able to access internet right away on the other side. And needless to say, my posts from the Orient will be restricted to those in my archives.

And this is the tower of St. Martinuskerk, standing out against the surrounding buildings and thus can be seen from far, in Venlo.

It is a dramatic image, Ayush.

Best wishes for your European work assignment.
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Ray. I intend to use this opportunity and gain more maturity! grin
I like this P.O.V. Ayush, keep in touch when you can. smile
Ayush Basu: A few hiccups perhaps during the transition, Frank.
I love this view, Ayush! Nice shot! We'll look forward to your posts and comments when you can!
Ayush Basu: I hope my temporary absence is very brief, Elizabeth.
I love this view of the tower, Ayush, and am really looking forward to seeing you again soon!
Ayush Basu: I am not sure if going up the tower was permitted, Ginnie - something to find out next time! And likewise, looking forward to seeing both of you.

A nice solid looking tower Ayush. You will find it VERY cold in Europe at the present time
Ayush Basu: Yes, I was speaking to my colleagues, Chris, and they wondered if I am bring additional cold weather there - it was minus 3 on the day of our call last week but the day that I am scheduled to touch down, the forecast says minus 10!

Très joli point de vue, c'est vertigineux.
Ayush Basu: I would like to see the view from the top, Martine, but perhaps it is not allowed.

I like your point of view. Often it is impossible to correct the verticals so make a feature of them as here.
Ayush Basu: I have been told that the purists would not approve of this point of view to begin with, Alan.

I hope your work assignment goes well, and that you are able to keep warm!
Ayush Basu: Very kind of you, Lisl, and thank you.
Un sacré point de vue qui offre une belle ligne de fuite.
Bonne journée Ayush
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Pascale, I do wonder if I could improve on this.

Enjoy Dutchland. In my experience, when you land at Schiphol you can get connected immediately by one of the sellers at the exit.
Ayush Basu: Thank you for your kind wishes. Yes of course, Louis, I expect to get the connection. In general, whenever I have to move houses/places, I find it challenging to find motivation for it, despite having it done a lot of moving.

I wonder which came first in language Ayush, the tower or the word towering.
Ayush Basu: Good point, Chad. I expect you are thinking about it while you are at the wheel of your camper.

Ayush Basu: Thank you, Elaine! Oh yes, maybe I will get more from inside, the next time.
Welcome back to Europe, Ayush!
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Tom. I am looking forward to a productive and learning journey ahead.
Welcome back to Europe Ayush, may you have a fine stay once again, and are you planning to meet Astrid and Ginnie again this time?
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Brian, and I would hope so. It would be a pity if we could not work out a meeting plan.
You are going to a familiar place at least. Safe travels.
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Mary.
I was wondering where he was, I see he travels a lot.
Ayush Basu: Only once in a while, Claudio. And it helps me with the photography too.

This is a wonderful POV and I am delighted that you will visit Hollandshire again. Utrecht it will be for our next meeting. Safe travels and we will be in touch.
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Astrid. And of course, we will meet up.
I would rather be in the Orient it is far too grey and cold here.Still work is work so hope you have a reasonable time in the the land of clogs, hard cheese and windmills
Ayush Basu: Yes, I do have moments when I think "what did I sign up for?", Martin smile But you are right - work is work.
I hope you have a great time in Hollandshire.
Ayush Basu: I have no doubt about that, Bill, judging from my past experience.
cool shot of the tower Ayush and have a great time in Venlo....petersmile
Ayush Basu: Perhaps it could be improved a lot in terms of angle and view, Peter, and thank you for the kind wishes.

Wonderful perspective - it looks very powerful
