This is a traditional roadside stall selling curried noodles with chicken, while patrons occupy foldable tables and stools, while enjoying piping hot bowls. A lot of such stalls were movable and water sources were not well regulated, so the Government moved to create built up food courts with potable water points, along with mandatory inspections and certifications by the health authorities. In summary, the scene depicted above is nowhere to be found in today's Singapore.
