I made a trip to Tiong Bahru in the Red Hill area. I will present some murals on building sides, done by a talented local artist. This is a district in Singapore that has had quite some history. In the past there were several cemeteries here (the name itself refers to a cemetery). This panel depicts song birds in their cages while a group of men enjoy tea or coffee and local style toasted bread. Even today, an old practise of organizing song bird competitions has survived, I was informed.
