Backyard

This place is walking distance from my previous abode in Singapore. I have to say that I lived in a public housing apartment block, but these landed properties were set back from the hustle of the main streets and are in the multi-million dollar purchase scale.

And I also leave you with another scenelapse from the Singapore Art Museum.

That makes a nice street scene.
Ayush Basu: I am pleased you like it, Michael.
The trash cans lend an air of familiarity.
Ayush Basu: Yes, perhaps it looks like several other cities of the world, Larry.
> I like the strong road lines.
Ayush Basu: Yes, I was hoping to capture that, so thank you, Jacquelyn.

I do like that "hedge" of bamboo, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: Quite a common sight in Singapore, Ray.

Your picture could be the UK, well almost..
Ayush Basu: I will take your word for it, Chris.
I see you have wheelie bins just like we do!
Ayush Basu: Several concepts in Singapore were modelled on ones from the UK, Bill.

It could be on a street of many places I know, Ayush, but not of multi-million dollar homes. Most interesting.
Ayush Basu: Yes, this could be anywhere in the world, Ginnie - nothing unique here, I am afraid.

I thought at first it was in the UK - the wheelie bins are just like ours!
Ayush Basu: Several concepts in Singapore were modelled on ones from the UK, Lisl.

I see the same green and blue containers like we have here. A nice quiet neighbourhood, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: I suppose the same design principles and usability concept makes them so universal, Astrid.

Difficult to think that this is not in the UK; we even have the same wheelie bins. Mind you. we have more potholes in our roads...
Ayush Basu: Singapore has some excellent response to the first signs of any damage to roads and pavements, Alan.

The bins waiting in the street, reminds me of Thursdays in my neighbourhood. Peel road has a lovely green canopy. Lovely scenelapse.
Ayush Basu: Very quiet and peaceful and the leafy environs are a contrast to the bustling city life, Louis. I am pleased you liked the scenelapse.
I miss all the tropical trees now!
My favourite one is the rain trees. smile

You know Connaught Drive behind the Padang? There are quite a few old rain trees there.
Ayush Basu: I think at this time of the year in the UK, I am not surprised that you do, LC! smile
millions of dollars?? that makes it not fair doesn't it? i was looking at a condo i want, and it was only ONE million dollars, but that's A LOT of money!! makes me cry that i can't have it... i love that video, it reminds me of Madonna's 'Ray of Light' video!
Ayush Basu: In land scarce Singapore, any landed property has to be in millions of dollars, Elaine. Oh, I am sure I could probably own a door frame from one of these homes tongue

Leafy suburbia, complete with the ubiquitous wheelybins!

I really like the scene lapse idea.
Ayush Basu: Thank you for the kind remark, Anne.
I am still hunting around on a particular style or approach for a scene lapse, so I end up trying out whatever seems best at that point in time.

I love all the greenery.
Ayush Basu: A complete contrast to the hustle of a big city life, CP.
ilike your back yard Ayush... it looks nice and quiet for such a big city....petersmile
Ayush Basu: Precisely, it is very serene here, Peter. I think I could afford to purchase a door-knob or two here!
Interesting to see that they have the same type of "wheelie-bins" as we do!
Ayush Basu: Several concepts in Singapore were modelled on ones from the UK, Tom. But then again the usability and functional requirements probably do not leave room for any drastic variations in design.
It looks like a nice place to graduate out of the sanctuary of home, and into the hustle of the public square!
Ayush Basu: Yes, Elizabeth - something like a ten minute drive into the Central Business District.
