HK Transport 3

As of 2017, there has been re-branding and adoption of a new logo, along wth the fairly commonplace practice of pasting of graphical advertisements on the exterior carbodies. Standard fares are 2.30 HKD (regardless of the distance travelled) and it is even cheaper for children and seniors. I would say that if you have time on your hands, taking the tram could be a steal! "Catch a ride. Catch a smile!" indeed There is even a Party Tram (vintage trams decorated with lights on the exterior carbody); sadly I do not have a photo of those. â€‹

This is a very good evening image, Ayush...conveys a sense of competence in the public transport system, too.
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Ray. The trams here struggling a bit to compete (at least financially viable), but in terms of service, I could not complain.
I want to be on the party tram. smile
Ayush Basu: I wish I could have shown you what you missed, Larry smile
I like this shot, Ayush! I feel like I'm riding along!
Ayush Basu: I was rather pleased by the experience, Elizabeth.

Civilised travel Ayush
Ayush Basu: It certainly ticked off the things I would look for in public transport, Chris.

It does not look crowded.
Ayush Basu: It was not, Chad, but perhaps it was past rush hour.

Ayush Basu: But this double decker tram really is quite unusual, Elaine. I think you would like it.

What a rather nice experience, Ayush
Ayush Basu: I was rather pleased by the experience, Lisl.
Just having traveled to cities, |I have just made use of public transportation again.
Ayush Basu: Good to reduce the environmental foot print in that way, Mary, I think.
Cheap public transport is essential in cities
Ayush Basu: I think Hong Kong and Singapore are competent in this area, Bill.
We always like to experience public transport when abroad. We did the buses in HK, but at busy times they were too packed for comfort.
Ayush Basu: I think it is pretty much the same in all metropolitan cities over the world, especially during the business hours. To the maximum extent reasonably possible, I try to stick to public transport whether home or travelling, Martin.
A nice documentary shot.
Ayush Basu: This documentary is beneficial to myself as I will have a condensed note of the tramways (six months down the road I am sure I will forget a lot of this), Michael.
the last time that i saw a tram was years ago in Toronto Ayush...
they lacked in interesting things to look at....petersmile
Ayush Basu: I suppose I was looking at it through fresh eyes and I found it very fascinating. But I am aware that financially, the HK trams are said to be struggling.

The light sign in the middle top seems to be suffering from camera shake. The letters on the other signs are rather clear. So I guess that is how they build chinese characters in that format.
Ayush Basu: Actually it is a display scrolling from right to left, Louis. Well observed.
