HK Day1: Victoria Peak

It is possible to walk up to the peak but we (my travel companion and I) took the Peak Tram to arrive at the Peak on our first evening in Hong Kong. The Peak Tram Lower Terminus is easily reachable by foot from the Central MTR. There was a formidable queue, but the ride was offered us fabulous panoramic views of Hong Kong. There is also a Historical Gallery, before boarding the tram. It is possible to buy single or return tickets. By the way, the St John's Cathedral is close to the base station, which we visited on another day. At the top is a sky terrace, which has another ticketed entry. The views from the top are seen in gazillion photos on Instagram and other social media. We wanted to see the evening lights, which were glittering from the skyscrapers in the distance. The most recognizable is the Bank of China.

This helped me recall my last visit to HK, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: I take it then you visited the Victoria Peak, Ray. The funicular ride was the highlight for me.
A beautiful night-scape, Ayush!
Ayush Basu: Thank you for the kind comment, Elizabeth.

What a fine sparkling night view of the city Ayush, a fine addition to the Chinese portfolio of cities.
Ayush Basu: Moments after taking this shot, heavy clouds rolled in and lashed us with rains, Chad. You can see it approaching in the top right corner.

I was hoping you will do some night shots of the city. Great stuff.
Ayush Basu: You are beginning to get a hang of my tendencies, Louis. Thank you.
Cracking night picture Ayush

Ayush Basu: Moments after taking this shot, heavy clouds rolled in and lashed us with rains, Elaine!
My colleague's husband was Commissioner for Transport for HK - he took us on a tour using all the different modes of transport, to demonstrate the interconnection of services - a brilliant trip smile
Ayush Basu: Yes, the interconnection is a good feature, isn't it? They have it here in Singapore too, Tom, and now it feels almost natural and common-sense.
Very nice. You caught the great light nicely.
Ayush Basu: After a lot of ruined attempts, Michael!

A fabulous photograph smile
Ayush Basu: Very kind of you to say so, CherryPie.
Somehow reminds me of Blade Runner...
Ayush Basu: Hmm, maybe I will have to watch a re-run for some of the details are a bit foggy in my mind, Larry.

What a gorgeous view on this supermodern city - Europe looks really old in comparison with this city.
Ayush Basu: Perhaps the view of the city does that, Philine. But in terms of ideas, we all can be new and creative.
you're doing the Spiderman series here Ayush... love it....petersmile
Ayush Basu: Thank you for the kind remark, Peter. I like the Spiderman-spin on it smile
What a city of lights!
