The colour of gold dominates this Shrine, Ayush, and leaves little doubt about the most popular prayers!
Ayush Basu: Gold is not too far from the thoughts once one lays eyes on this altar, Ray. But then again I imagine a lot of the locals and devotees do not need that many visual indicators.
Very nice.
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Michael.
oh my goodness! Just dripping in gold!!! Beautiful!
Ayush Basu: This was apparently even grander at one point of time, Elizabeth.

Clearly demonstrating the importance of this clan.
Ayush Basu: And now a major tourist draw, Bill.
Holy goldness!
Ayush Basu: I know, Mary. Exactly the reaction I too had.
There certainly has been some wealth put into that Ayush, this looks to be some sort of altar.
Ayush Basu: This is an altar for tablets (ancestral tablets of the Khoo clan), Brian.
Tout simpleent superbe !!
Merci
Ayush Basu: It attracted a lot of attention even when it was constructed a long time ago, Claudine.

This gold decorated front has to be seen to be believed, Ayush
Ayush Basu: It has been lovingly restored with fresh coats of gold paint, Lisl.
Must have been some imagination on the architect's part... Designing everything surrounding a square...

Lovely image, Ayush... smile
Ayush Basu: Oh this was apparently even grander at one point of time, Sudipto.
That is flamboyant!
Ayush Basu: Flamboyant is the word, Tom!
Khoo Kongsi used to be free some 20 odd years ago... wink
Ayush Basu: It still is on certain weekends of the month, LC.
