Aspects of Hinduism are much in evidence in Thai Culture and Thai Buddhism, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: I have the same observation, Ray.
That is really nice.
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Michael.
It does have a lot going on!
Ayush Basu: The third eye open or about to open is a sign that this Lord of Destruction is going to lay the world of evil and wickedness to waste, in order to rejuvenate and rebuild a new, clean world, Elizabeth. So yes, a lot is going on. smile Well that is how the story goes at least.

It's the land of skulls
Ayush Basu: This God has the reputation of living ascetically and without worldly comforts, Chris.
I can see what you mean Ayush, it has a very Indian appearance
Ayush Basu: Do you mean the third eye, Bill? tongue
Just kidding! Thank you for the visit and comment.
Very useful to have extra arms!
Ayush Basu: Divine multi-tasking, I suppose, Tom.
You must be referring to extra arms.
Ayush Basu: I believe this is the Hindu Lord Shiva, Mary.
Quite an imagination at work...
Ayush Basu: I am sure the artisans making those have to have a certain religious qualification, Larry.
I can see a lot of Hindu influence including the blue colour but I am not familiar with the significance of the skulls (although I have it in the back of my mind that I have read about them...).
Ayush Basu: I believe the blue hue is attributed to the fact that he is reputed to have consume poison to have prevent others from mistakenly have taken it, CP. Thank you for the comment.

Another great capture -- many elements in these structures, you have to study it closely to see it all!
Ayush Basu: Indeed there are fascinating aspects to it, Emily. For instance, the blue hue is attributed to the fact that he is reputed to have consume poison to have prevent others from mistakenly have taken it.

This is amazing with all the skulls. A wonderful picture and I wonder what the story is behind this statue.
Ayush Basu: This is Lord Shiva, a destroyer God, not for the sake of wanton destruction, but to enable healthy re-building after destruction of the evil and wicked. Thank you for the comment. I believe the blue hue is attributed to the fact that he is reputed to have consume poison to have prevent others from mistakenly have taken it.
Indeed so, Ayush. I have a nephew who is in the final stages of becoming a Buddhist monk...living in Canada.
Ayush Basu: I wish him all the best in his spiritual quest, Ginnie. And thank you for the comment.

This one doesn't look very friendly.
Ayush Basu: This one is the destroyer (so that rebuilding may take place), Louis.
