Kuan Im Teng Temple 4

On one instance, I was able to catch an opera for the benefit of the deities. Although I did not understand much of the proceedings, it was a lively and unique experience.

Quel joli maquillage pour ce spectacle.
Ayush Basu: Merci, Martine. I am pleased you like it.
That certainly is a colourful image.
Ayush Basu: The costumes helped a lot, Michael - thank you.
It must have been so fascinating! I like this image of one of the "actors"
Ayush Basu: They each had their part and after playing it would come back out from the sides, Elizabeth - that is when I caught this actor.

Amazing costume & wonderful expression too
Ayush Basu: Very unusual for me although I hear they are not so infrequent, Chris.

No matter...you can make up the story to fit your beliefs and desires, Ayush...I am guessing it was a memorable event.
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Ray. This event fascinated me. I wish I had the focus nailed.
Good catch Ayush... And lovely composition... smile
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Sudipto. This event fascinated me.
Just to see the costumes would be a thrill.
Ayush Basu: You are right about that, Mary. I felt the same.
They really over emphasise the eyebrows don't they.
Ayush Basu: I am not sure if that is part of the character, Brian - the imperious looking, slightly menacing upward finish.

I so like the colourful cloths and the wonderful scene. I bet a wonderful experience.
Ayush Basu: It was my first time to witness this, although I am told that they are quite frequent in such temples of Malaysia and Singapore too, Astrid.
A wonderful experience, I imagine!
Ayush Basu: Very memorable, Tom.
Wait till Hungry Ghost Festival!
You get to see more.
Ayush Basu: Oh yes, and in Singapore too, LC.
I imagine it was quite dramatic Ayush. Great expression on her face
Ayush Basu: It was my first time to witness this, although I am told that they are quite frequent in such temples of Malaysia and Singapore too, Bill. I liked the elaborate get up.

He looks so mysterious. Nicely captured.
Ayush Basu: He was not performing at the moment, Beth. Thank you.
Nervous?
Ayush Basu: More like rehearsing his lines for the next act I suppose, Michael.
Very colorful and interesting to see some of the backstage too.
Ayush Basu: I suppose I was lucky where I stood, Larry.
