St George's Church 4

In recent times, the church had fallen into a state of negligence, when in 2007, the church was declared one of the 50 National Treasures of Malaysia by the Malaysian government. Since then, it (and also the Francis Light cupola) underwent a restoration by the National Heritage Department.

Quite right that these things be looked after properly Ayush
Ayush Basu: There was apparently quite a civic drive for this church, Chris.
Looks like they rescued this just in time Ayush
Ayush Basu: I saw some photos from before the renovation and it looked rather sad, Bill.
it's a beautiful church Ayush but your wide angle lens didn't work so well on this shot....petersmile
Ayush Basu: That is what happens when I go out for a photo walk with one single lens attached to my camera, Peter.

Is this style liked, Ayush?
Ayush Basu: Are you referring to the Church, Lisl? I got the strong impression that there were certainly a fair number of visitors for Sunday masses.
YAY for the declarations, Ayush!
Ayush Basu: All thanks to a strong civic drive, Ginnie.
we all have to take care of our treasures, in keeping with the church i will quote a scripture: 'where your treasure is, there your heart is' smile
Ayush Basu: I think we can all agree to that, Elaine. Thank you.

It is always great if there is a chance to be able to restore if, they did a great job, what a wonderful picture. Love the white of the buildings.
Ayush Basu: These churches look very nice in spotless white, Astrid. Singapore too has some such lovely churches.
Was it bult to slope like that?? Ah! I see - a 10mm lens effect!
Ayush Basu: Yes, when I walked out with one single lens attached to the camera, Tom.
He he... There are two non-identical but painted in white in Fort Canning Park. smile
Ayush Basu: Do you think that was the trend those days, LCsmile
