lovely in white...
Ayush Basu: When well maintained, they have a striking appearance on a beautiful day, Larry.
It certainly is a lovely building.
Ayush Basu: I agree, Michael.

I am guessing those louvres cantilever up to allow a through draft, Ayush...otherwise it might be akin to sitting in a Black Hole of Calcutta?
Ayush Basu: I suppose with the advent of air conditioning and artificial lighting, and with the fund raising effort behind this place, this flock is not facing any physical discomfort, Ray. I have yet to be able to get inside this place - once it was right about Sunday mass time, the next time it was just closed.

This certainly is a wonderful building, very well maintained too.
Ayush Basu: The fact that it is well maintained makes this spotless white structure a joy to see and capture, Astrid.
It looks almost new!
Ayush Basu: Well maintained and spotless!
Those English sure do get around, Ayush, don't they!!! smile
Ayush Basu: Now the trend seems to have reversed, Ginnie - people from quite a number of places have visited and grown roots in England.

The ugly car park lets it down, Ayush
Ayush Basu: I suppose it is partly my fault as I did not compose well enough to leave that out, Lisl! tongue

It has a spire too
Ayush Basu: Some more shots of this place will follow, Chris.
soooo pretty, like bone china smile
Ayush Basu: A few more shots will follow, Elaine.
I like the addition of disabled access Ayush. The architect forgot to add one.
Ayush Basu: Modernization, I suppose, Chad.
It is a very handsome building Ayush.
Ayush Basu: A couple more shots of this place will follow, Bill.

Your comment about aircon reminded me of the time I visited an Orthodox Greek church in Athens and asked the priest/pastor if he would mind me attending the service. He grew a benevolent smile, and said sure - if I see fit to sit through a 6 hour service, I would be welcome. The other aspect is that in Athens, temperatures can rise ...

Needless to say - 6 hours while on tour, is a bit long.
Ayush Basu: Six hours? Forget air conditioning, I hope there is a heavy duty coffee vending machine and cushions on the benches, Louis.
So unusual, and well painted with super white paint.
Ayush Basu: And I suppose it is well tended to, Mary.
Elle a une drôle de forme pour une église.
Ayush Basu: Perhaps the wide angle lens imparts such an impression, Martine?

I wouldn't have recognised a church without the Bell Tower.
