Inside the Roman Pantheon

I regret to say that my posting and commenting back has been rather erratic lately, with some work related travels. With a bit of more discipline, I hope I can come back to normalcy.

The above shot was taken some years back. It is the world's largest dome made of unreinforced concrete and makes use of clever construction, to reduce the load at the top.

A very impressive structure, Ayush!

You need a PA, to organise you...
Incredible place, Ayush! Lovely shot!
I don't mind the time in between your posts, Ayush - they're always worth the wait!
I missed it when I was in Rome.

This is wonderful and a great angle. You saw some great things. To me it is always mind-blowing how they were able to build this incredible architecture in that time. Sometimes works need more attention and there are only 24 hours in a day...

Welcome back to normalcy. We do miss you, Ayush, but realise you have a job to do!
The "tyranny of the urgent" hits us all at different points in time, Ayush, so we all know the feeling. In the meantime, we're just happy when you DO show your face! smile

I agree with Astrid...what they knew how to do in architecture back then blows the mind.

Great architecture and a great image! We know you have to do a hard job! (During my job I would not have had time for posting and commenting.)
Quite stunning Ayush. Work is a necessary evil but now that I am retired I seem to have even less time to take pictures grin
One of the great iconic buildings Ayush, and very well captured.
I wondered if you had jumped ship. Our numbers are dwindling.

The painting in the sun catches my eye for the bright colours.
It is an amazing construction for its age. Being retired one soon forgets just how much time work takes up, especialy if a lot of travel is involved.
A great shot, Ayush. I visited it when I was a child in 19??. I loved the big hole in the roof. Those Romans sure could build.

WOW! How grand this structure is! I am always fascinated with these historical places

Thank you for digging it up to share!

And safe travels smile
I too find it difficult to maintain a continual SC presence, we must try harder .
What an incredible construction from all that time ago.

The way the light varies and the angle, emphasises how grand the Pantheon is.
