photoblog image Night Shot

Night Shot

Another shot was a high floor (cannot recall which level I was on).

I did a lot of fiddling around with the colour temperature, to the point that I could not get back to the original default settings, so I left it at this.

Looks good like this, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Ray. But what is mildly annoying to me is that I was not in control of the fiddling and if asked to recreate this same image, I would most definitely be unable to produce a consistent image. Several notes to myself....

Très beau noir et blanc.
Ayush Basu: Merci, Martine.
And I hope your leg is getting better and stronger as expected.
Looks fine to me, Ayush.Excellent night shot.
Ayush Basu: Despite the obviously busy surroundings full of man made constructs, it was actually very quiet and peaceful where I stood, Frank. This has been a favourite spot of mine in the past 6 months.
This works for me, Ayush! Very cool!
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Elizabeth. I like visiting this place every now and then.

But I like this a lot.... look at all the people that are still awake or just about to go to work wink.... Great shot. I love high places like these. Great colours too.
Ayush Basu: Precisely, Astrid. And despite the obviously busy surroundings full of man made constructs, it was actually very quiet and peaceful where I stood.

I think this is fine Ayush
Ayush Basu: Very kind of you to say so, Chris.
It is interesting with your fiddling. This is a scene I don't often see.
Ayush Basu: I should know when I cross the twiddling line, Mary. And despite the obviously busy surroundings full of man made constructs, it was actually very quiet and peaceful where I stood.
I like it, just like a toned B.& W.
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Brian.
One of my findings in recent times is that I still sometimes struggle to get the white balance spot on in my camera. Additionally I have mentioned on SC that my monitor was only recently calibrated, meaning trying to get a fix on white balance on the monitor is like shooting at a moving target. Thirdly, I was rather enthusiastic with the sliders of the post processing smile

UNREAL! What a spectacular view ... nothing quite like the city lights
Ayush Basu: And despite the obviously busy surroundings full of man made constructs, it was actually very quiet and peaceful where I stood, Elaine.
This works OK for me Ayush!
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Bill. I've got to learn to know when to stop!

This view is lovely.

I always save my original settings and fiddle with a copy. That way I can try a different fiddle later as the mood takes me.

Not that I do much twiddling with my photos. Most of them are as they came out from the camera apart from cropping.
Ayush Basu: Very smart of you CP. In general, I shoot quite a fair number of pictures therefore, I am forced to keep any post processing to the absolute minimum. But on this occasion, I had only a handful of photos, more or less similar with minor differences, so I let loose on the fiddling before really thinking it out. I am pleased you like the view - I like it too and in the past six months have made multiple trips there.
Nothing beats a high floor, except a view from a airship.
Ayush Basu: And it was rather peaceful and breezy up there too, Michael.
Whatever you did, Ayush, is delightful. It has a warm feel to it.
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Ginnie.

Not a bas leave at all!
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Louis. I have to learn to let it go at some point and not cross the line!

Fiddled nicely, Ayush
Ayush Basu: I am pleased this works for you, Lisl.
You can see details in the windows... cool...
Ayush Basu: hmm, now you are giving me ideas, Larry wink
