Brilliantly frozen, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: I was quite fascinated by the fine spray of sand, Ray.
I use to jump in my school days, but never quite the recovery technique all the way.
Une médaille de bronze, c'est bien.
Ayush Basu: She certainly deserved it, Martine.
Terrific catch, Ayush!!
Ayush Basu: Thank you for regularly following through these shots, Elizabeth.smile

I think she did great, I never was a long jump or a high jump person... I am good with games that uses balls, softball, basketball, soccer...
Great picture and love her facial expression. It shows you had such a fun day at that sports event, great series of pictures.
Ayush Basu: I did! It was a privilege to be among athletes who, I am sure, will also make it to larger competitive platforms and make it to the global level, Astrid. Good to hear of your sports preferences. I was more a "jack of all, master of none" kind of player. I suppose as long as I am in the sun and get to sweat a bit, I am happy already!

A cracking capture. The foreshortening of the lens does not make it look a jump of over 5m but then I compare it to the length of the run-in.
Ayush Basu: I tried a few angles, one as you see here and other from the side (a few posts back), Alan. But you are right about the start up track as an indication of distance.
The lass in blue looks unimpressed grin This is a cracking picture Auush
Ayush Basu: Nice observation, Bill. Her expression says "mehh"!
Look at her! Fantastic capture.
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Mary - she was focussing on her landing and recovery routine I suppose.
Oops - hasn't quite got the technique right! Great catch!
Ayush Basu: As I recall, this jump was still allowed. But I agree with you, maybe there is room for improvement for her, Tom.
That looks awkward. Foreshortening isn't her friend.
Ayush Basu: I think I could have played around with my angles a bit more, Michael.
Looks like a quick silver!
Ayush Basu: I see what you mean and I am guessing you meant quicksand, LC?
Great gobs of frozen sand...
Ayush Basu: I found it fascinating, Larry.

NICE! This is my favourite one yet! Well done, great capture.
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Emily.
Man. You sure are getting fantastic shots, Ayush. BRAVO!
Ayush Basu: Thank you Ginnie, for the generous praise! Your "BRAVO" made my day smile

You have made a great catch of the moment of impact.
Ayush Basu: Thank you for the kind remark, Louis. The Canon 7DII and the lens were very competent.
