3000m Steeple Chase (Men's) Finals

Generally speaking, friends and acquaintance have never known me to be quick to flare up. I came very close to proving each and every one of them wrong, when this official walked into the shot. But I stuck to the same position and in the next lap, I got this below. (Phew, I have still a lot of growing up to do.)

timing and patience is everything Ayush...
it looks like #3 is about to take down a gate... i'm surprised that the second image is almost a perfect duplicate without the man and the push cart....petersmile
Ayush Basu: I have been shooting for years now and I still have to work on both the things you mentioned.
The boys were very consistent, Peter.
Good for you Ayush!!! The bottom shot is terrific!!
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Elizabeth. It had been a long day of events, Elizabeth. I am pleased you like the second one.

Un sujet bien d'actualité avec les JO qui se terminent. Magnifiques photos !
Ayush Basu: Yes, a bit too much of sports all around these days, isn't it, Martine? Merci!
Good for you, indeed, Ayush. The leg action from one frame to the next is totally worth whatever frustration you felt. I LOVE this sequence.
Ayush Basu: I feel so much better now after having both the shots, Ginnie.

The two shots look amazingly similar, Ayush - the second is really great
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Lisl.

It was worth waiting to get the second shot Ayush
Ayush Basu: I am pleased you approve, Chris.
Great action shots indeed Ayush!
Ayush Basu: Merci, Richard!
Your patience was well rewarded
Ayush Basu: Weeellll... I was not that patient, Martin grin but I was rewarded, yes.
It was good of them to recreate this view for you Ayush.
Ayush Basu: They did divide the gold, silver and bronze among themselves, Chad, so......

Hah, ha - so you flared your nostrils at him... Anyone would understand. From your bottom picture I can see what you were after and it is a wonder they stayed so close to each other, one round further.

Strange thing is, that I like the top picture - especially that the athletes are in focus and the official not.
Ayush Basu: Haha, you paint a vivid picture but yes, something like that, Louis. The boys were very consistent and they divided the gold, silver and bronze among themselves.

Really great shots, Ayush, even if the official did his best to annoy you.
Ayush Basu: I was rather annoyed at that time but now after all this period, I can see things in perspective and have a chuckle about it, Pauline. And of course, it is a pleasure to share this with you all on SC.
We will all have those moments in life even when our nature is easy going. Take it easy on you for that. The photos (both) are worthy.
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Mary. I have a lot to learn, both within photography and outside of it.

Maybe it was good that the official walked by.... I think I like the other picture better. The foot almost on the hurdle and the third man almost flying..
Great shot and yes being a photographer means waiting and hoping and praying and patience and fingers crossed and LUCK smile
Ayush Basu: Well you are right in that, Astrid. No damage done and I did get what I wanted. Nothing that a deep breath will not solve. grin
Two fine shots except the top one has one of those 'oh b*g**r' moments, you done well to contain yourself smile
Ayush Basu: Haha, you summed up my reaction very well, Brian. Thank you. The gentleman in green is living healthily, oblivious to how close he had come to physical violence on that day - no, I am kidding! grin

Ayush Basu: The gentleman in green is living healthily, oblivious to how close he had come to physical violence on that day - no, I am kidding! grin
I did not even bother, Elaine. I was better at 100m or 200m.

Isn't that just typical! The second image is a cracker. though.

Thank you, Alan.

a great action photograph! You are the highly talented sport photographer of SC.
Ayush Basu: You are very kind, Philine. Mostly, I have the privilege of being able to shoot sports.

There is little evidence of shake in the bottom shot, Ayush...it seems you recovered your composure in time to make this into a fabulous 2 shot sequence.

smile
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Ray. No shake - but I bit my lip. The gentleman in green is living healthily, oblivious to how close he had come to physical violence on that day grin
I am glad you stuck with it...
Ayush Basu: I bit my lip, but oh well..... smile
Super shots, Ayush, well done!
Ayush Basu: Thank you for the generous remark, Frank.
