At that point, Joannah Yue was 38-year-old national squash player and her age was considered to be past the limit when most athletes throw in the towel. Joannah first joined the national team in 1992, participated in the 1999 SEA Games and retired after the 2001 Kuala Lumpur edition. She came out of her retirement in 2014 for her 2015 SEA Games swansong. She was part of the national women's team, clinching bronze. In her own words, “I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been my entire life. I think the 38-year-old me is even better than when I was 18 or 19." Looking at her play from my position in the foxhole, I am more than satisfied to take her word.
