More Practice

In case you wondered where I was while taking this shot, there are two small holes in the lower front wall. These holes are covered with plexi-glass. Behind the front wall, is a concrete trench. Being in the "foxhole" means a photographer can avoid distracting the players and getting a painful hit by the whacked ball. That means shooting through a murky, scratchy glass though. I ended up shooting at some insanely high ISO and shutter speeds.

All eyes on the little black ball!
Ayush Basu: Except the coach, Ray. He is the dude outside with his back to the door.
I like the feel of movement in the left of your image...
Ayush Basu: Movement is right, Jacquelyn and power too.
You handled the situation wonderfully!
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Elizabeth. It was a totally new situation for me and was thus rather interesting.

Considering the high ISO this is very accomplished Ayush
Ayush Basu: All credit goes to the camera and all the goings on in the software, Chris.
Excellent POV and timing Ayush!
Ayush Basu: Very kind of you to say so, Richard.
They are certainly concentrating hard on this match Ayush.
Ayush Basu: They were really practicing hard, Chad. I would not last three minutes in there.
Considering the conditions, Ayush you did well.
Ayush Basu: I suppose all credit goes to the camera and all the goings on in the software, Frank.
Good idea though to have these 'blinds' as they would be called in the birding world. You turned all the right knobs and pressed all the right buttons here.
Ayush Basu: Ah yes, you are right about that, Mary. I have some more shots lined up and you will be able to see the "noise" rather clearly then.

It came out remarkably well then, Ayush
Ayush Basu: I have some more shots lined up and you will be able to see the "noise" rather clearly then, Lisl.
Some good shots from this court this week Ayush. I have never been fit enough to consider playing Squash!
Ayush Basu: I would not last one hundred and eighty seconds in there, Brian!
Thank you very much.
As we say in America, Ayush, "You did good!" smile
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Ginnie smile

I've never seen shots form the position before. I bet your natural reaction was to duck down when a ball came towards you.
Ayush Basu: I was genuinely worried for my front teeth, Alan. And the sound was unbelievably loud.
You have done well Ayush and it is also a good advert for Canon at high ISO!
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Bill and I agree about Canon's noise processing capability.
You certainly managed to freeze the moment, Ayush!
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Tom.
She has a cool tattoo on her knee?!
Ayush Basu: The one taking a rest? I believe it is a compression tape, LC. Whether it is actually effective or not, I am not too sure.
Nice action shot.
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Michael.

I think you can get the best pictures from those holes. This is a fabulous shot. Look at that concentration.
Ayush Basu: Bedankt, Astrid. It was a novel experience for me. I have a picture of the foxhole somewhere but I have been unable to retrieve it so far. And yes, they were focussed on their practice session - I have some more lined up in the coming days.
It's nice of them to give you viewports...
Ayush Basu: If I am not mistaken, they pulled down that section and re-did the foxholes, Larry.
