It is like a fairy tale house.
Ayush Basu: The roof, more than anything else, contributes to that feeling, Michael - I agree with you.

Very lovely, with that sun streaming in, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Ray. I struggle with managing light/flare when shooting into the sun. In this case, perhaps it works with the scene.

It is almost like I walk into the forest and suddenly this house appears. LOVE the sun here.
Ayush Basu: It is something of a protected land, Astrid, in the sense that these trees are the original trees (not recently planted) and there are permissions only to trim the branches from time to time. Historically, the local Malay rulers had a small presence here and therefore, to the common folk, this was a forbidden hill.
J'aime beaucoup la forme de ce toit perdu dans la verdure.
Ayush Basu: J'adore votre remarque . Je sentais aussi le même .. I love this place
Thank you for your comment, I agree with you, Martine.
Wonderful! I can almost feel the heat and humidity!
Ayush Basu: Thank you. Quite a standard feature of Singapore, Elizabeth.
What a beautiful and serene place Ayush!
Ayush Basu: It was early morning, Richard. But this spot is serene and quiet all through the day. Thank you.

I like the effect of the sun
Ayush Basu: One of the fewer instances when I shot into the sun and produced a half decent image, Chris. Thank you.
So, I had to Google Fort Canning to see where it is. HA! What a cozy place I did not expect to see in Singapore, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: Singapore, despite being a mass of skyscrapers, has a very well thought out plan and implementation to protect and nurture designated greenery, Ginnie. These trees are the original ones (not recently planted) and there are permissions only to trim the branches from time to time.
It looks very humid Ayush
Ayush Basu: Quite a standard feature of Singapore, Bill.
We're in the jungle! Love it. I was in woods yesterday.
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Mary. We in Singapore are fortunate in that sense that we could easily travel (walk/jog/bike) to these tropical woods.

With this light it looks dreamy.
Ayush Basu: I struggle with managing light/flare when shooting into the sun, Louis. In this case, perhaps it works with the scene.

What lush greenery, Ayush
Ayush Basu: You are right about that, Lisl. It is like that all year round.

It looks well hidden in the jungle.
Ayush Basu: From elsewhere, there are tiled pathways leading to it, Alan. It is a shelter for people to take rest in between their exploration.
I like that textured roof...
Ayush Basu: Apt comment, coming from you, Larry. I guess that roof construction has remained largely unchanged over the decades.
Down in the jungle!
Ayush Basu: Yes Tom, and this is right in the heart of the city and close to where the harbour used to be, a long time ago.
I think there's another bigger shelter with some ruins, right?
Ayush Basu: Ah yes, not too far from here, LC.

The lighting is magical.
Ayush Basu: It worked in my favour (surprisingly so because I find it a challenge shooting into the sun), CP.
