Waiting 2

I know absolutely nothing about fishing and have never felt the inclincation to take it up. This rod was unattended (no doubt the owner was nearby somewhere), so I took this shot and was on my way, lest I knocked over something.

There are quite strict Rules about fishing in Australia, Ayush...if I recall correctly, it is illegal to leave a hand-rod unattended.
Ayush Basu: By unattended I meant, the anglers were perhaps in one of the tents and periodically coming by to take a look at the rods. I am not sure if there is legislation and implementation of fishing laws in Singapore, Ray.

Jolies couleurs entre le moulinet et le fil de pêche.
Ayush Basu: I am with you on the colours.
Je suis d'accord avec toi. J'aime les couleurs, Martine.
I'm the same Ayush - but I always find the tackle interesting and photo worthy - you've proven this theory!
Ayush Basu: Thank you for that comment, Elizabeth. This is the instance that I came closest to the fishing gear.

we used to live on a boat, and my husband went up on deck and fished, i sat by him, he caught one and the fish was SCREAMING as my husband fumbled to get the hook out of it's mouth while i FREAKED OUT BAD... and needless to say, he never fished again
Ayush Basu: That sounds like a really traumatic experience, Elaine.

Like you I find this all a complete mystery Ayush
Ayush Basu: And after the couple of shots that I showed, I am none too wiser, Chris.
I am like you as regards fishing Ayush, never been interested.
Ayush Basu: I do not believe I would find it stress relieving as some anglers/fishers claim, Chad.

The only fishing I have ever done was as a child with a cane, a bit of catgut, a hook and a worm, Ayush
Ayush Basu: Then you are much more experienced than I am, Lisl. I have done other stuff separately with each of the items that you mentioned though wink

Nor me, Ayush. I suppose if you have a very stressful job then teaching worms to swim (also called "fishing") may seem a good way to relax. I prefer a walk or a bike ride, though.
Ayush Basu: I think the whole process of setting up the lines and tackles and bait would up my stress by another couple of notches, Alan. I will join you for that walk or a bike ride.
I am not into fishing but have a son who really is. I love fresh fish though.
Ayush Basu: Fresh fish! In Singapore, given all that all the fish comes from deep sea sources and then most of the supply chain involves a lot of storage and freezing, I do not even know what is 'fresh'... But in my growing up years, we had a lot of river water fish.
One has to keep this type of fishing rod in hand here Ayush...Fine capture!
Ayush Basu: I am not too sure if there is legalization with much implementation for fishing, Richard. But I would imagine it does make sense to have them in hand.
I always think the engineering on these spools is very well done.
Ayush Basu: There are certainly several aspects to that, Brian. The mechanism itself, the materials used and the load bearing capacity, among others.
Looks like a pricey bit of gear - although I've no idea how much this kind of thing costs!
Ayush Basu: In Singapore, everything is pricey, Tom. I am afraid I could not enlighten you about the price.
I'm quite into fishing when I get the chance, but that doesn't happen very often nowadays
Ayush Basu: I bet the people living in the vicinity appreciate this place a lot. Having said that, I am not sure whether there is a good catch to be had or not, Martin.

It has a very colourful reel.
Ayush Basu: Good for the owner to easily distinguish his reel from far, CP.
That is a very nice shot.
