photoblog image The Magnificent

The Magnificent

This tree, on a beautiful day, is in the middle of slowly shedding its turning cover.

The paths and grounds were so thickly covered with leaves that on two occassions, I almost stepped into water bodies.

Wonderful image, Ayush.

[What are water bodies?]
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Ray. I was using a loose term to refer to small streams and ponds (the sunken and concealed one you see around the trunk). On two occasions I would have stepped into them.
Ooooooh Sooooooo Pretttttyy!!!!!!
Ayush Basu: I know, Elizabeth. Just the right weather conditions.

A glorious study in colour Ayush
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Chris.
It feels like the wind is blowing the leaves here. Fine photo.
Ayush Basu: The wind direction and the moisture content are a contributor to the colour and the shedding of the leaves, Jacquelyn.
This is so beautiful Ayush!
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Richard.
Love the bright sunshine covering all.
Ayush Basu: I had a bit of a challenge since the bright sunshine also led to pockets of darkness, Mary.
It's a wonderful time of year.
Ayush Basu: You are absolutely right, Tom - a fortunate mix of temperature, moisture in the air and wind direction.
What a lovely place to walk through.
Ayush Basu: We took up the greater part of three hours and still were not fully done with the beauty of this place, Brian.

This is wonderful and I can imagine the 'shock' to walk into a water body... Wonderful tree and I love the nice colours.
Ayush Basu: With my camera in hand, I would have not liked it at all, Astrid. And I have to admit it is a bad habit of mine, to flip through the images in the LCD (I believe this act is called "chimping"wink.
This scene is rather Japanese?!
Ayush Basu: Perhaps you're referring to the zen feeling of this image/place, LC. And I agree.

It's funny how some some trees seemingly shred their leaves in just a few hours. Your title sums up this scene.
Ayush Basu: You are absolutely right, Alan - a fortunate mix of temperature, moisture in the air and wind direction.
The perfect time for colour
Ayush Basu: You are absolutely right, Martin - a fortunate mix of temperature, moisture in the air and wind direction.
Wonderful image, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Roland.

Beautiful smile
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Cherie. A fortunate mix of temperature, moisture in the air and wind direction.
That is so nice.
Ayush Basu: I am pleased you think so, Michael.

It does look a bit wet underfoot. Such agreeable colour here, Ayush
Ayush Basu: Lucky I did not take a tumble into a pond, Lisl. I agree with you on the colours.
You've just reminded me of the Dutch canals that are covered with milkweed at certain times of the year, Ayush, and I often wonder who accidentally falls into them!
