photoblog image The Start

The Start

The actual start point of the several laps. At my back was a raised podium for the gueest of honour to flag off the participants by blaring a horn.

Apologies for lack of comments lately. I tied up some loose ends of my assignment in the Netherlands and then flew back to Singapore yesterday.

Most of the starters are seriously geared up, Ayush...some cycle retailers have been having good figures lately.
Ayush Basu: You got that right, Ray. There is no shortage of dedicated cyclists in Singapore and they are willing to pay top dollar for the merchandise they think they want.

Life itself, Elaine.
They seem all being ready for the great start Ayush! Fine capture.

I can feel the tension..
Ayush Basu: One could listen to the silent revving up of the pedals and chain drives, Chris!
There are a couple of cyclists who are not in red shirts Ayush.
Ayush Basu: Probably one of those nonconformists, Chad. Good thing too, we see a lot of red shirts in Singapore.
They look very professional Ayush
Ayush Basu: They certainly were dedicated and well prepared, Bill.
Ready , Set, .... My son is in the Netherlands for work again.
Ayush Basu: A lot of us on SC seem to have this Dutch connection, Mary, isn't it?
They all look very keen to get started.
Ayush Basu: They couldn't be bothered with the MC giving his rousing speech, Brian.
All ready to go...
Ayush Basu: Itching to go off, Larry
A pretty good turn-out!
Ayush Basu: Oh yes, and the flag offs were conducted in waves so there were plenty of participants.

I wonder how many future cycling tars are there? Glad that you're back home for the holidays (well.. do you celebrate Christmas?)
Ayush Basu: I doubt many people celebrate Christmas in Singapore for the religious value. It is more of a marketing and sales boost kind of a thing, Alan. But I do appreciate the end of year closing and time to spend with family smile
These kids look a little bigger than the previous you've shown before!
That is a mass of bicycles. Nice shot.
Welcome back home, Ayush. I've been wondering when you'd finally wave good-bye to us here in the Netherlands. Please let us know if they ever DO ask you back.
A splendid line up
