Boschsctraat

The Boschstraat is a street in the center of Maastricht, very close to the Markt and the Stadhuis. There are several historic buildings and one can see this figure of Saint Anthony of Padua (regretably I did not get the fountain at the base of the statue), designed by Jean Huysmans and sculptured by Charles Hubert Eyck, in 1951.

Update on the sculptor's (of the Peaceful Warrior) website: "Currently Rik and his team are working on a plan to actually send Peaceful Warrior around the world."

Did the locals try to assist you when they found you laying on your back in the street, Ayush?
Ayush Basu: The locals gave me a wide berth, Ray. I wonder why grin
your framing of the church is wonderful Ayush... but the sculpture of Saint Anthony of Padua is not all that flattering....petersmile
Ayush Basu: I see what you mean, Peter. Thank you for your take on this.
It's an interesting sculpture - and your POV makes it look a hundred feet tall!
Ayush Basu: Glad you liked it, Elizabeth

Thank you for the link to the "Peaceful Warrior" - I missed him first time round
Ayush Basu: Thank you for looking back in, Lisl
Very fine Ayush, old Huysmans could write too.
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Chad

Heh, that Ray smile

Dutch cities are so old and beautiful (except for Rotterdam, that is not old).
Ayush Basu: I have to agree with you, Louis, based on the brief time I spent in Roermond, Maastricht and Venlo
I like the idea of a sculpture for peace being sent around the world. Love you POV here - way down low.
Ayush Basu: Thank you Mary, I too thought it was a great idea although the logistics of it could be challenging.
I like how your perspective is in line with his gaze Ayush
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Janet.
I like the is angle, well done for not dealing with the converging verticals.
Ayush Basu: I thought that this one shot it gave an overview of the statue and a bit about the surroundings, Brian. I appreciate your input.
Great POV Ayush! Were you kneeling down?
A rather fine statue Ayush. Maastrict seems to be an interesting place
The angle used works well

Love your POV on Saint Anthony, Ayush.
Nice low angle shot that makes the sculpture dominate.

I love the angle, it seems to connect St Anthony, with Jesus on the cross (as displayed on the church).
