Very imposing, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: That it is, Frank. Thank you

What bold colors!
Ayush Basu: The colours are set off well against the blue sky, Hollie

that is the logo of the royal bank of canada... weird, what country is this?
Ayush Basu: This is in the Netherlands, Elaine. I think eagles, lions and tigers are quite common symbols when they come to regal status.
the sculpture holding the banner looks to be green with mold... yet the banner is well preserved... and stamped on the butt by Hel???
....petersmile
Ayush Basu: Well noted Peter. I am told the city hall was renovated in 2007. Perhaps the corrosion protection was better than conducive conditions for mould growth. And I did not even notice the "Hel tattoo" grin perhaps that is the reason the lion has a yelp?

You would think that would scare the tax payers away, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: Perhaps they thought of it as a deterrent to tax skippers, Ray. But it backfired smile
Very nice composition.
Ayush Basu: Very kind of you, Michael
Quite an imprseesive POV Ayush! Well done.
Ayush Basu: Thank you kindly, Richard. I was seeing the blue sky after a while and thought it a shame to leave it out. Plus the City Hall was rather massive.

Flanking lions seem popular in all cultures, Ayush
Ayush Basu: Lions, tigers, eagles; all in the name of regality and power.

You will see a lot of lions all over the place. I love your composition. Did you have a chance to peek inside??
Ayush Basu: The place was still undergoing renovation and it was rather quiet. I got an impression it was closed but I could have been wrong, Astrid. Thank you.
More Dutch you cannot get, Ayush, than a fine Town Hall like this. smile
Ayush Basu: I was beginning to arrive at the same conclusion, Ginnie.
A handsome building Ayush
Ayush Basu: I agree, Bill. And right in front was a small square with a number of bistros and pubs around it. Sad to say, it was penetratingly windy and I pushed off in a short while.

Not just lions, but lions bearing swords.
Ayush Basu: Right you are! Did not escape your eagle eyed observation, Louis. Thank you very much

A very grand structure
Ayush Basu: It was restored in 2007, I am told, and does look impressive, Chris.

Distortion rarely adds a value to a photo but in this case it really suits it. The banner with the lion looks rather impressive, it catches one's attention right away. Great perspective!
Ayush Basu: You made a good observation and thank you for the comment, Petra.
