i like the way that you framed this Ayush... it looks like the 2 coupled VIRM trainsets look like they are about to start a family... what with all that coupling and suchgrin....petersmile
Ayush Basu: That does not bode too well for rolling stock manufacturers, Peter! grin
Nice livery, Ayush, I remember watching their football team, V.V. Venlo many years ago.
Ayush Basu: I recall seeing young boys playing football in some miserable weather (wet and painfully windy), Frank.

That Peter from Lake Remi...a one-track [pun] mind!

I am ready for the journey, Ayush, so toot the whistle.
Ayush Basu: Thank you Ray, I hope to present some shots that give a sense of what I experienced in the Netherlands.
I am on board for the journey.
Ayush Basu: Thank you Michael, and I hope you will find something to enjoy on this series.

this is a really beautiful shot of the hardness of man made technology, but for some reason reminds me of two kissing bumble bees lol
Ayush Basu: I can see how you get that, Elaine. Nice imagination smile
Smart looking rolling stock Ayush
Ayush Basu: The colour scheme sets off nicely against the sky, I felt, Bill.

I had to look twice when I saw this at first Ayush!
Ayush Basu: It gets better in the coming posts, Chris tongue

The 'double-decker'....'bi-level-rail-car'. The Dutch railroad system is a good one and it nice way to travel. Great shot. You were in a nice area of Hollandshire smile
Ayush Basu: I think it makes perfect sense, maximizing the platform length and adding in more passengers. I see the double deckers (doppelstockwagen) are very common in mainland Europe.

You come really around - from Singapur to Venlo - I often crossed Venlo on the way to Belgium and France- and I recognised immediately the Nederlandse Spoorwegen (NS).
Ayush Basu: The NS was traditionally from Germany, Philine. I do not know if that is still the case today.

Astrid is right - a good railroad system! But Venlo is not the nicest town of NL.
Ayush Basu: I have yet to know more about the people and town of Venlo, Philine.
Very interesting style of train aren't they.
Ayush Basu: I do like them and it seems that double deckers are quite common in mainland Europe, Brian.
We don't have trains in my province so train travel is rare for me. I am aboard for your trip.
Ayush Basu: I am quite fond of rail travel, Mary. Having said that, I do not have a whole lot of train photos in this series.
Great image Ayush. It looks like they are having a chat
Ayush Basu: Thank you Janet, you are quite right. They are quite used to chatting at speeds of 140-160kmph.
Quite a nice livery isn't it? Beautiful capture Ayush!
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Richard. I do like this paint scheme.
Very effective study in this narrow range of colours, everywhere clean and tidy
Ayush Basu: Thank you for that observation, Martin.
Almost abstract, Ayush!
Ayush Basu: I guess you would have seen something like this on SJ lines, Tom?
Nose to nose
Ayush Basu: You should see them when they are doing 140-160kmph, Larry smile

How is the transit in the Netherlands? I always wonder cause for a place like Toronto, we need a to of improvements.
Ayush Basu: In my short experience, generally in Europe, railway transportation is fairly good. Recently there have been efforts to modernize rolling stocks with features like wifi included, comfortable seating and folding tables so people can even work while they commute. Thank you for the nice comment, Emily. I think some of the others here on SC might be better positioned to elaborate.
They do look like they are kising!!!
Ayush Basu: I agree, Elizabeth, and I think they are quite a normal feature of trains in Europe (coupling three or four car trains to make a longer trainset).
Next time you're in the area, Ayush, LET US KNOW!!!!!
Ayush Basu: grin You got that, Ginnie!

All the jokes about coupled trainsets, have been made already. Funny lot, here on SC.
Ayush Basu: You would wonder if at least half of them have worked at rolling stock manufacturers and/or in the railway transportation industry, Louis smile

It looks like the two carriages are kissing smile
Ayush Basu: Well, the two will be at it throughout the ride, CP smile
