I did not catch the name of this butterfly and this was one of the rarer ones over there. But it was motionless for a long period there.

It is a really beautiful moth, Ayush... I love the very faint blue. You've captured this well - I like how it fills the frame
Ayush Basu: Butterflies are amazing in their colours and the sheen on the wings when viewed from different angles, Elizabeth

Got it!

I don't think we have this one in Thailand, Ayush, but I would be pleased if I was wrong about that.
Ayush Basu: I wish I could have identified this exactly, Ray. But the namelessness does not detract from its beauty.
A handsome little beast Ayush
Ayush Basu: You certainly have that right, Bill. Thank you for the comment

Just as well it was motionless Ayush: nice picture
Ayush Basu: Made it an easy task for me, Chris
Thank you for making me discover this beauty Ayush!
Ayush Basu: I wish I could have dug up the name, Richard, but there seem to be other varieties with some shared features, making an exact identification quite difficult for me.
A splendid picture of it Ayush
Ayush Basu: It was an easy task for me, Janet. Thank you
Isn't it a fantastic looking butterfly.
Ayush Basu: Without the shadow of a doubt, Brian
What a lovely, compliant butterfly. It has a great design with the body stripes continuing onto the wings. Makes it look very fierce to predators.
Ayush Basu: The colour combination is certainly very tiger-y, Mary. I agree with your perception.

Maybe it is a Sleeping Beauty.
Ayush Basu: Well put, Louis. And why not, after it had had a good fill of nectar goodness.

What a beautiful close- up - I thought Ray or Lisl would know the name - 'Sleeping Beauty' is a nice name!
Ayush Basu: Sleeping beauty works for me too, Philine. Perhaps this specimen is not frequent in their part of the world.

It looks wonderful. So kind of it to stay still for the photo.
Ayush Basu: Probably had a good fill of nectar and sleeping it off, Alan
