Peranakan Museum

The Peranakan Museum in Singapore specializes in culture peculiar to this part of the world: descendants of Chinese immigrants to the Malayan Straits. This very site used to house the Asian Civilisations Museum, which closed and moved to a different location and this site reopened to highlight and explore Peranakan cultures in Singapore and other Peranakan sites of Malacca and Penang. Some subtle post processing done to bring out details among the architectural features.

And below is another time lapse from a goofing around session one Saturday morning.

Awesome POV. I love taking pictures and looking up at a structure. Makes it so ominous.
Ayush Basu: I wanted to get more of this building but right behind me was the busy street, Hollie.
Very nice. I like the symmetrical composition.
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Michael.

i love the POV you have, lovely picture.... that colour green is my fave smile
Ayush Basu: I am pleased to hear that Elaine, I think the high vibrancy settings contributed to that.

A fine shot, Ayush.

I spent a couple of hours in this museum while I was working in Singapore, and here is my humble effort to record the magnificent exhibition:

Ayush Basu: A pity there was a busy road behind me so I could not get more of this handsome building into the picture. Thank you, Ray. And I will take a look at your link soon.
Great POV with a perfect symmetry Ayush!
Ayush Basu: I am pleased you like this view, it appealed to me highly, Richard.
What a great POV, Ayush - it's wonderful architecture isn't it! Enjoyed your little time lapse!!
Ayush Basu: A pity there was a busy road behind me so I could not get more of this handsome building into the picture. Thank you, Elizabeth. I might be trying some more time lapses but it does test my patience! grin

Singapore always looks so clean Ayush
Ayush Basu: Gazetted buildings receive timely maintenance, Chris.
A handsome building with a real mix of styles
Ayush Basu: Gazetted buildings will receive timely and healthy doses of maintenance, Bill.

You have quite a selection of videos, Ayush
Ayush Basu: Thank you. I am pleased you like them, Lisl. Something of a recent interest but I can tell you it adds to the shutter count of my camera healthily!
I like your little time lapse. Brought a smile.
Ayush Basu: I am happy to hear that Mary, but I can tell you it adds to the shutter count of my camera healthily! grin
I really like your composition Ayush, each side matches perfectly.
Ayush Basu: Thank you Brian, that is what I was attracted to. I suppose the credit goes to the architect for the conception. A pity there was a busy road behind me so I could not get more of this handsome building into the picture.
Good p.o.v. Ayush...
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Frank

A nice perspective smile
Ayush Basu: It came off not too badly, I think. Thank you CP
i just love the way that you framed this perfectly and your imagination for using this point of view Ayush...

i like your time laps video!
....petersmile
Ayush Basu: Thank you. I am pleased you like this, Peter. I had wondered before taking the shot if the sky would be blown out.
Would not have guessed from this view of the facade.
Ayush Basu: It is worthwhile to visit this place, Michael.

This looks quite impressive and I love your POV.
Great details on the facade.
Ayush Basu: A pity there was a busy road behind me so I could not get more of this handsome building into the picture. Thank you, Astrid. Singapore does put in significant funds for conservation and maintenance of gazetted buildings.
What a fabulous symmetrical POV of this fine-detailed structure, Ayush. You did good.

And I love your time-lapsed goofing around. I especially like the wind! smile
Ayush Basu: A pity there was a busy road behind me so I could not get more of this handsome building into the picture. Thank you, Ginnie. I am pleased you enjoyed the image and the video.

I like your point of view here very much. Looks to be a fine building. I like your timelapse video; I keep meaning to try one myself - if I knew how wink
Ayush Basu: A pity there was a busy road behind me so I could not get more of this handsome building into the picture. Thank you, Alan.
It sure takes a whole bunch of images and is more of a question of patience. The putting together of the video is simpler and proportional to the processing power of your computer smile
It looks a fine building and in very good condition Ayush. I would expect nothing less in Singapore.
Ayush Basu: It certainly is well maintained and receives generous funding for restoration and maintenance, Chad.
Oh I don't remember if I have been to this one. But I have definitely been to the Asian Civilisations Museum. smile
Ayush Basu: This is worth a visit, LC. If you are in town, check it out!

There are some very speedy folk on that pathway. I like this timelapse stuff.
Ayush Basu: Speedy and curious, Louis. I attracted quite a few stares as they saw and heard the camera making several shots.
Wonderful architecture, good photo!
Ayush Basu: The architecture is really isn't it? Thank you, R!
love this love this Ayush...
Ayush Basu: Thank you for the emphatic comment, Ronky!
Great pov, Ayush!
Ayush Basu: Thank you, Tom
