I was pleased to have captured this handsome feathered friend. There were some pockets of fruits stuffed in strategic locations, which enabled visitors to get a closer look.

Ayush Basu: I love birds too, Elaine, but we only had bird feeders when I was young. This was a handsome bird indeed and my opportune moment to be have been up close with him.

A bright looking bird, maybe it talks too
Ayush Basu: Perhaps I could have found out if it did not keep nibbling on something or the other from the feeding station, Chris.
What a wonderful and colourful portrait Ayush!

Looks like it might be a bit stressed, Ayush...sometimes they self-pluck in that state.
Ayush Basu: I wouldn't know anything about identifying that but I sure hope that is not the case. I wonder if the keepers are trained to keep an eye on the mental well being of their charges, Ray.
He is a bit unfeathered in his neck. I love his colours.
Ayush Basu: Not sure if that occurred naturally or how. I love his colours too and the fact that he seemed to be not excessively concerned about the close proximity to humans, Mary.
What a really colourful character.
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much. A handsome bird indeed and my opportune moment to be have been up close with him, Brian
Fabulous bright colour isn't he. Great capture Ayush with his beak full
Ayush Basu: There was a feeding station nearby so he was able to nibble at something every now and then, Janet.
Splendid shot!
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much smile

Wonderful image ... macro lens on this? I'm never able to get that close to birds ... they always fly away from mesad
Ayush Basu: Welcome back after a while, Emily. Thank you for the visit. This was a long lens 300mm. There was a feeding station so that kept them coming back once in a while.
Beautiful portrait of a good quality. I admire!
Have a nice week end!
