Main Eyes

These are the ones that help to form images, helping to capture prey and such. And apparently, they have very high resolution among insect eyes.

Wiki has some fairly straightforward explanation of their vision here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jumping_spider

Terrific shots. It looks like he is wearing spectacles.
Ayush Basu: He certainly looks liek it but he's way too cool for that grin Thanks, Michael
This is another really wonderful shot! Your Wiki link makes me love jumping spiders even more!
Ayush Basu: This brief macro series made me look up some things on the 'net and I am wiser for that, I hope! And wiki does bring a lot of info together, Elizabeth. Thank you for the regular visits and comments.

Caught the eyes a treat, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: This character kept edging closer and closer, almost like a diver at the edge of a springboard. Lucky I had the camera separating the two of us!

You are a natural at macro pics Ayush, this spider is staring right at you
Ayush Basu: I am pleased to hear that, thank you, Chris. But then I had a patient and experienced mentor guiding me and some excellent quality equipment
Looks like he is wearing Hi fashion shades
Ayush Basu: He is way too cool for any additional shades, Martin grin
Look at these eyes! Stunning details Ayush.
Ayush Basu: I was pleased with the results myself, Richard. Thank you very much.
Great macro, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: I am pleased to hear that, thank you, Frank.
Good picture Ayush. Primitive eyes are fascinating
Ayush Basu: Very kind of you to say so and I agree on the fascination part.
You have his eyes in the crispest of focus. As I have said, I am enjoying this series very much.
Ayush Basu: Thank you for the regular visits and comments, Mary. I have been busier than usual in replying to comments.
Closer and closer, very well done Ayush.
Ayush Basu: This is about the extent of it, Brian. This was not in the mood to back down grin

A fabulous macro shot. I think I may have nightmares though after seeing those beady eyes...
Ayush Basu: I hope you did not, CP. I am the say way with tarantulas, by the way.

For me, Ayush, this is the best of the series!
Ayush Basu: Always a pleasure to receive your encouraging comments, Ginnie
Spider pix are still hard for me to look at... but I tried to see all of your series.
Ayush Basu: I am the same for tarantulas, Jacquelyn. This fella was somewhat easier to get close to. Lucky I had the camera separating us.
Nice take Ayush...
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Ronky
