photoblog image The Train

The Train

Just look at the opponents trailing him.

Could I ask you visitors about the orientation of this shot? I reckon this shot could have used a tighter crop, especially with reference to the stray people at the background. But for some reason I prefer to have 3:2 landscape orientation (although I have posted portrait orientations on several occasions).

you are asking the wrong person, i could count on one hand the number of times i have cropped a shot, just used to my old film mentality i guess... if you wanted to crop it, couldn't you sorta crop it a bit and keep the ratio?

I think if you're taking shots like this the tighter the crop the better Ayush

Landscape is fine and I would lose the folk on the left. However as the chap with the ball is running out of the frame I would probably go for a vertical crop tight on the action in this instance.

I think you can get a tighter crop that focuses on the action and still keep the 3:2 landscape orientation.

It is a question of playing around until you see how you like it.
