photoblog image Bukit Batok Park

Bukit Batok Park

Bukit Batok park is an abandoned quarry site and today has become a peaceful nature park. Situated in the Singapore west, there is this picturesque pond. The terrain is undulating and there are footpaths (both paved and unpaved) meandering through the lush secondary forest, widely used by joggers and weekend hikers.

There is also a simple World War II memorial for the soldiers who perished.

PS: I was away for a while and was not checking in on any of your posts. I hope to look in over the coming days.

Beautiful place, looking quite tranquil. Here in my city we also have an old quarry turned to a bird sanctuary http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Austin_Roberts_Bird_Sanctuary
Due to my interest in bird photography, I visit it a lot.

Love the reflections you've caught of the cliff face! It's hard to believe it was man made.......and now nature takes back her own smile
