photoblog image Metta Carnival 06: Tank

Metta Carnival 06: Tank

This was the only military application among all. It had a fully functional (i.e movement-wise, not armament-wise) turret. I did not get a shot of the time when a curious boy got close to the front of the stage and the tank inched ahead. The gun swivelled and directed itself right to the boy's face and then 'fired'. This was accompanied by a boom played on the onboard speaker and the retraction of the gun.

Ha Ha

You would think it would at least fire potato pellets, heh!
Ayush Basu: But perhaps more effective than a flag that pops out, with the word "Bang!!!" on it, don't you think? grin Thanks, Ray
And did the boy go flying back startlingly?!
Ayush Basu: He snuggled closer to his father who was next to him, so I guess both yes and no... smile
I bet that made him jump Ayush!
Ayush Basu: He was startled yes, but very much glue to the display.

Blimey - a coup in the lorry park!
Ayush Basu: Just a show of deterrence, Chris... and the opposition was blown away.
war time?
Ayush Basu: Just a show to deter the unruly, Chantal grin
boys and their toys!
Ayush Basu: SOme of them never grow up, do they?
love this Ayush!
Ayush Basu: Thank you kindly Ronky!
The boy must have jumped away Ayush! Fine capture.
Ayush Basu: Not too much but yes, he was startled Richard
WOW! Talk about getting HIS attention, Ayush. How fun. It never hurts to have a sense of humor. smile
Ayush Basu: Definitely Ginnie! The boy probably went "coool... aaaaawesome..."

hahah... must have been a shock for the boy!
Ayush Basu: He flinched, his dad chuckled, I observed and shared on SC grin
The lorries are so much bigger than the tank. wink
Ayush Basu: You got that right haha!
If only they had just a boom in real life, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: Perhaps not a very good idea in that confined space, Pauline wink

I'm not sure that tank tracks were designed for polished floors Ayush.
Ayush Basu: Perhaps you were trying to say that this particular polished floor was not designed to take on tank tracks, Chad? grin
And the lorries have headlights! They're quite complex toys smile
Ayush Basu: Oh yes, thank you for observing that, Martin. Not only the headlights but also tail lamps, side indicators and a variety of trims/liveries on the sides of the trailers.

Little boy's face would have been worth a few pics smile
Ayush Basu: Unfortunately I was not that quick. But it might be too much for the boy; "boom" from the tank followed by "clicks" from the camera. grin

Are all the RC motors electric ??
Ayush Basu: That would be my guess, Shane.
Belle composition, c'est sympa smile)

Great shot. I read the comments. That was a nice shock for the boy.... but seen the reaction he just loved the action.
Great toys.
I have a Dinky Toy centurion tank with lorry.... wink
Ayush Basu: I think he was a bit surprised but it only increased his fascination. I just looked up the image of a Dinky Toy centurion tank, quite impressive Astrid smile

The swiveling of the gun barrel was sure to startle the little chap.

Is the model based on an actual tank?
Ayush Basu: I am guessing that it is, but not sure which nation employs such a tank.
