photoblog image Sundown at Eagle Square, Langkawi

Sundown at Eagle Square, Langkawi

I posted another image of this spot with a family having photos taken. Somewhere around that time I took this shot with relatively fewer people around. After about half an hour or so, the sun went down and that was when the magic began

The following shot was taken at the rear of the giant eagle sculpture.

Those two on the right seem to be contemplating fun, anyway, Ayush!
Ayush Basu: And the one on the left chose to look away, Ray
Very cool pic of the sculpture... but yes, that sunset is magical!
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much Elizabeth. I was there for quite a while and played around with the settings. This one was taken with a warm white balance.

Wonderful eagle and what a place to be at the golden hour and beyond. Wonderful sunset pictures.
Ayush Basu: Astrid, I think that 12 feet sculpture is meant to represent a local reddish-brown eagle. In fact the name Langkawi comes from a corruption of the words eagle and brown, I read someplace.
What a regal bird for this place, Ayush. The sunset pays tribute!
Ayush Basu: I was here for quite a while so I got plenty of time to play around with my settings. The sunset was with warmer white balance. I have to admit I was pleased with the result.
Wow! That is a gorgeous sunset.
Ayush Basu: Thank you very mch Mary
A stunning sunset shot, Ayush!

A very fine sculpture isn't it.
Ayush Basu: About 12 feet, Brian, in case the scale is not obvious enough. Thank you very much.

That one at the back is excellent. Like love is in the air.
Ayush Basu: You could definitely say that Louis smile
From this angle, it looks like a garuda?!

The eagle is ready for flight > maybe off into the beautiful golden sunset later.
Ayush Basu: The draft from its wings would blow off the people I assume. smile Thank you very much, Jacquelyn
Wow very striking image, great capture
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Scotia.
Beautiful eagle.. I like both photos...
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Larry

Did you notice in your linked to picture that the clouds looked like an eagle Ayush?
Ayush Basu: I did not notice at first I confess, but it was pointed out in the comments by some. Thank you very much, Chad
the big eagle is well framed Ayush... most people watch the sunset and so home... but they miss that golden hour... when the sky turns into magic....petersmile
Ayush Basu: Very nicely pointed out. It was a nice spot to slow down at the end of a whole day touring around, Peter. Thank you.
Great stuff Ayush.
Ayush Basu: Thanks, Bill!

My word.. that's a big bird! I like your sunset photo very much.
Ayush Basu: This view has been done to death by picture postcards and holiday makers. So I just had to get it out of my system as well grin
The soaring eagle
Ayush Basu: For Langkawi, it has become a landmark of sorts John

That is a fabulous Eagle sculpture but I love your sunset even more smile
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Cherry.
I love those shots, especially the second..
Ayush Basu: Thank you Michael. I set the white balance to a warmer level for the second one.
The eagle is magnificent as is the sunset, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: Thank you Pauline. It is based on a local reddish brown eagle.
Wow, Ayush... two very impressive captures.
