TH15: Ferocious Weight Lifter.

For some reason, this is a recurring feature of a lot of temples, wats loaded on the shoulders of demons/warriors. They do not appear to be actually load bearing structures but I guess there is some significance.

My favourite, so far, in this excellent series on Bangkok's main tourist attraction, Ayush.

These mythical characters actually come from one of the Ancient Indian poetic masterpieces...I think it might be The Ramayana.

A large amount of Thailand's colourful mythology was borrowed from this place. Traditional Thai dancing, which is very similar to Traditional Balinese dancing came from this source.

These soldiers are both benevolent and malevolent...in this case they are protectors of the temple.
This is excellent Ayush! We can feel the weight on his shoulders...
It's certainly very colourful.

Great angle!
Ray has given a very good explanation. I really like how you've shot and presented this one, Ayush. One of the best of the series so far.
