CH20: Bachalpsee

The clouds were a bother. They kept rolling in and out all the while we were inching towards Bachalpsee. By the time we reach the lake, the clouds had encircled the Schreckhorn peak. Fifteen minutes after this shot, they did exactly that.

The lake itself is at an elevation of 2265m (altogether a gain of 97m from First). There is another lake behind my back. Or perhaps it is more accurate to say that a small strip of land spilts this lake in two. Here is the other one.

Stop complaining, Ayush...the clouds are an asset, and distinguish this fine pano from the thousands others have carried home in the cameras.
Ayush Basu: Thank you Ray for that insight smile
What stunning mountain scenes.
Ayush Basu: Glad to hear that Michael
Two really outstanding images Ayush! I think the clouds worked out perfectly.... at least for photography - not sure for hiking! smile

The clouds certainly enhance the pictures, Ayush, but I bet it was cold being enveloped in them
Ayush Basu: It was somewhat warm with all my exertion grin I am not known to be a very fit person Lisl. Thank you very much for your comment
