CH07: Walter's Mittaghorn

I did not stay at the Hotel Mittaghorn, which is run by Walter Mittler. Nevertheless, this is a landmark hotel in Gimmelwald. The word Mittaghorn is hidden by the trees in this view. Walter's hotel has been described as a "classic, creaky, Alpine-style place with memorable beds, ancient down comforters (short and fat; wear socks and drape the blanket over your feet), and a million-dollar view of the Jungfrau Alps". This place has shared shower areas and toilets. Walter is over 80, but is still running the hotel alone, with some hired help. Reviewers have called it simple but classy.

Amazing that some avalanche has not knocked it over. What an angle for the back yard. Might not be able to play soccer in that back yard.
Indeed a classic Swiss style isn't it, and what interesting notes.
To be able to run a hotel at that age is quite an accomplishment and clearly shows that Mr. Mittler still enjoys his job. Like how you've captured the family passing by.
No flowers on the balconies is rather unusual. Good shot of it Ayush
A beautiful Swiss scene Ayush!

It's good that such places still exist and and all run by global corporations. Not sure like the sound of the "memorable beds", though; sound likes they memorable for all the wrong reasons smile

That is some achievement for an octogenarian Ayush.
What you might call an experience Ayush grin I bet it is great fun to stay there
Lovely shot, Ayush! you seem to travel a lot, seen pictures from all over the world at your blog!
I think perhaps Walter should consider retiring Ayush!!
