CH02: Barns of Gimmelwald

A couple of barn fronts seen in Gimmelwald. Gimmelwald, at a height of 1400m, is a traditional village in Berner Oberland area of Switzerland, very close to Mürren. It  has a small local population of about 130 but is visited heavily by tourists all year round. Apart from tourism, the only other local activity is dairy and poultry.

Throw away the plastic chair, Ayush, and you have a scene from the musical "Oklahoma".
Ayush Basu: I have heard of it but havent seen it. We are fairly addicted to cheap, plastic stuff

These are lovely Ayush, clearly they're very proud of the barns.

Very rustic, I think we went there on a delightful little train
Ayush Basu: I'm wondering if you took the train till Murren and then the ten-minute cable car till Gimmelwald. Yes, rustic is right.
A fine rustic bench that should inspire my namesake to refurbish his at long last.
Ayush Basu: Such scenic surroundings may distract the person doing the refurbishment, Bill

So that's Carbon, Hydrogen and two atoms of Oxygen. That must be the molecule Hydrooxycarbon Ayush.
Ayush Basu: Its a CHOO then!
Can't be more artificial, Ayush
Ayush Basu: Hmm, yes I suppose there is something in what you say, Juan Carlos.
Certainly lots going on here,Ayush.
Ayush Basu: Either the people behind this have plenty of time on their hands or else they feel strongly about them.

Two busy pictures full of colour, Ayush
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, Lisl
Those are the fanciest barns I have ever seen.
Ayush Basu: Yes, I thought so too. And they outnumber the residential homes!

yes, I've I've been there! I love the old boots used as planters and the rustic benches. .
Ayush Basu: I loved them too. Sadly I have stinky shoes and thus cannot donate them to get a second life tongue
They look more like rustic homes than barns, Ayush. Lovely captures!
Ayush Basu: Actually the top one really does. Perhaps there is a room for a temporary occupant.

Nice images..I'm a sucker for a great barn photo and these are very well done
Ayush Basu: I certainly see the appeal and the attraction. Thank you
Looks as though you've been having a bit of a twiddle here, Ayush smile
Ayush Basu: It did not escape you then grin Yes, for the second image there was a fair bit of sunshine on the lower half of the image. The top half was in the shadows. So a bit of uniforming the range all over.
Really delightful photos, Ayush.
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much, CMsmile
Beautiful images of these very charming barns! Nicely done Ayush!

You might have noticed, Ayush, that CH is the land of the tidiest wood piles in the world.
Ayush Basu: Then I believe you possess that tidy bit, CH.adgrin
