GZ 08: Incensed!

Same venue as the last post. Devotees would purchase the incense sticks and light them while praying. Post obeisance, they would stick them into this rather large pot. I have no idea what does the inscription say.

Very good, Ayush.

I believe you will find the candle messages are things like:

"Dear Lord Buddha...if it pleases you, I could use a little assistance in meeting my goals with regard to love [fortune, health, luck, study, etc]...thank you, in anticipation..."
Ayush Basu: Thank you for that. I was wondering if it was just the manufacturer info
I like this Ayush. I bet there was quite an aroma grin
Ayush Basu: Glad you liked it, Bill. Thank you
Really nice- I like your depth of field - just focusing on the nearest sticks.
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much Elizabeth

A very busy & fine image Ayush
Ayush Basu: Thank you very much Chris
It must smell incredible where you are standing. Love the colourful shot with the blue smoke so pretty.
Ayush Basu: Yes I too liked the blue smoke. Thank you Mary
The biggest incense sticks I've ever seen, I bet it smelt really strong round there.
Ayush Basu: In the open, the smell was not that overpowering. But I thought some of the ones from India are quite, with rose and sandalwood odours.
A beautiful incense forest Ayush! I like the tones.
Ayush Basu: Thank you Richard

Very interesting, thank you smile
Ayush Basu: Delighted that you liked it CP
i like the way that you captured all of these prayers Ayush....petersmile
Ayush Basu: Thank you Peter, the authorities get everyone to light up in one space in the open rather than fill up the temple interiors with smoke and reduce visibility.

I've seen this in Seoul, Ayush, and assume it is similar to the lighting of candles in our Catholic churches?

Multi tasking required here then Ayush - lighting sticks while praying. I'm up for it!
