photoblog image UAE Finale

UAE Finale

I had heard a lot [and subsequently noticed] that in the UAE, there is some distance between locals and the large resident working population. This distance exists in the workplace, in shopping centers, in markets, in policies and so on. Not a lot of the residents can claim to have a long and steady friendship with a local Emirati, and vice versa.

This is the only shot that, from my entire stay in the UAE, features a local Emirati family. They were sitting right in front of the Dubai Fountain, perhaps waiting for darkness to fall and the fountain show to begin. Perhaps not so different, after all.

You have managed to make the backs of people interesting, Ayush.
class distinctions are the same in most societies around the world Ayush... but when it comes to a display like the one you described... the boundaries change... slightly...
i have enjoyed your series on the UAE very much... thanks....petersmile
Nice photo, Ayush. And it looks like they use a Canon - so it's all good!
That is such a lovely shot.

I agree with Ray - the backs of people tell a story, too

A fine shot Ayush, wherever you go in the world there are divisions of one sort or another, tribal or class based
The human race can't get over being tribal hunter gatherers no matter hows thickly we try to paint on layers of sophistication
And is that a Canon sitting beside them? smile

That is very interesting Ayush.
The little girl is starting off well, camera wise! Nice pic' Ayush.
Very interesting commentary accompanying this fine capture, Ayush. With their matching tops, the little girls sitting on either side of their father resemble cute looking bookends.
A fine shot Ayush and excellent narrative. Even here the ordinary people seem to be leaving a clear line of view for the VIP.behind them.

This is a great shot. There will always be differences between groups of people. I worked with some men from India, they have the Caste and it was in my eyes strange.

Thank you for your informative words Ayush. Fine illustration!
This fountain display at night must be really spectacular.

This picture is worth more than a thousand words, Ayush. I love it. (And I sure hope the owner is keeping its eye on the camera!)

I have heard the same report from friends working over there. But when you are at a place where the rules are relaxed, e.g. Bahrain, they now become the 'visitors'. And they visit.

I like this picture - something is bound to happen in front, there.
